The trend has recently garnered heightened attention from Donald Trump, as he spoke about the topic during his visit to Qatar. He said that he does not want Apple to build in India but instead build in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>While Trump continues to push for Make in America policy, Apple does not appear to be moving away from the policy of finding the most suitable country to manufacture goods, taking into consideration the costs. It is a known fact that manufacturing in the United States is an expensive affair with heavy labour costs associated. In a exclusive comment obtained by CNBC, there is no change in Apple\u2019s plans to build in India, according to a person with knowledge of the matter.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><br style=\"clear: both; display: block; float: none;\"\/><\/p>\n<div class=\"bialty-container\"><img decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\" width=\"1332\" height=\"744\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ilounge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Apple-1-1.png\" class=\"attachment-post-single size-post-single wp-post-image\" alt=\"Apple\"\/><\/div>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-india-to-go-deeper-into-the-manufacturing-value-chain\">India to go deeper into the manufacturing value chain<\/h2>\n<p>At the event in Qatar, the United States President Donald Trump said, \u201cI had a little problem with Tim Cook yesterday. I said to him, my friend, I am treating you very good\u2026 but now I hear you are building all over India. I don\u2019t want you building in India.\u201d The US-first policy has worked to some extent in favor of the Trump administration but it is to be seen if it is sustainable.<\/p>\n<p><br style=\"clear: both; display: block; float: none;\"\/><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"709\" height=\"472\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ilounge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Make-In-India-Program.jpg\" alt=\"Prime Minister Modi - Make In India program\" class=\"wp-image-385288\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Prime Minister Modi \u2013 Make In India program<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In light of Trump\u2019s comments on manufacturing of Apple products in India, the Secrety General of the Electronic Industries Association of India (ELCINA) Rajoo Goel said \u201cWe need to go deeper into the value chain and do more of the components locally.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Goel further added \u201cIt may slow things down a bit, but I really don\u2019t think it is going to impact India that much.
