Those applying need to be:\n    <\/li>\n<li>living\u00a0and working in the UK and\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>\n      produce figurative artwork which can be a painting, drawing, printmaking<br \/>\n      or sculpture.\u00a0\n    <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n  This is the link to<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.therba.org\/rome-scholarship.html\" target=\"_blank\">the Rome Scholarship 2025 webpage<\/a>.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  It&#8217;s officially known as The Marianne Von Werther Memorial Award &#8211; but in<br \/>\n  shorthand is also known as the &#8220;RBA Rome Scholarship&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p><b>The winner&#8217;s prize<\/b> comprises<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li>\u00a35000 prize money<\/li>\n<li>\n    Four weeks accommodation in a self-contained apartment, situated within a<br \/>\n    wonderful and extensive walled garden in the grounds of the Sala Uno gallery<br \/>\n    &#8211; a prestigious gallery in the centre of Rome\n  <\/li>\n<li>Studio space &#8211; available within the gallery<\/li>\n<li>Two meals per day, provided at a nearby restaurant<\/li>\n<li>Return flights to Rome<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>The two runners-up also receive \u00a31000\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>\n  Plus all three candidates will have one work included in the RBA Annual<br \/>\n  Exhibition in 2026.\n<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #0b5394;\">Three Finalists<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Here are the three artists who have been selected for a further review of their artwork and sketchbooks as part of a portfolio review \/ interview.<\/p>\n<div>By way of a preview as to the challenge of the choice for this Scholarship, I will say that the last two winners of this award (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.joshuadonkorart.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Joshua Donko<\/a>r 2024 and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/kingaelfred\/\" target=\"_blank\">Aelfred Hillman<\/a> 2023) are both producing exceptional art which is selling phenomenally well.<\/div>\n<p><b>Below are the three young finalists for 2025 &#8211; who were announced at the PV<\/b><\/p>\n<div>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li>\n      <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tfashleyart.com\/\" style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_blank\">TF Ashley<\/a><b>\u00a0<\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/tfashleyart\/\" target=\"_blank\">@tfashleyart<\/a>\u00a0an artist and illustrator based in Oxford, UK. His recent work focuses on large-scale drawing in a wide variety of styles and traditional media and\u00a0explores our shared human experience, engaging with themes such as identity, migration, and socio-political realities.<\/li>\n<li><b><a href=\"https:\/\/katiekaur.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Katie Kaur<\/a>\u00a0<\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/katiekaur.art\/\">@katiekaur.art<\/a>&#8211; a half-Indian British artist based in London, currently studying for an MA Painting at the Royal College of Art. Her work seeks a visual language that bridges the material and sensorial, the ephemeral and the physical.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-align: center;\"><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kennwadiogbu.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ken Nwadiogbu<\/a><\/b><\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/kennwadiogbu\/\" target=\"_blank\">@kennwadiogbu<\/a> &#8211;\u00a0 a Nigerian-born multidisciplinary visual artist, based in London. He&#8217;s a graduate of the Royal College of Art, London (MA Painting).\u00a0 He creates innovative conceptual drawings and paintings on various surfaces as he engages in multidisciplinary modes.
