The company described the performance as the \u201cstrongest set of financial results in its history.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In a press release, published on May 19, 2025, Qatar Airways Group said it had seen a record-breaking 28% increase in profit in the 2024\/25 financial year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Qatar Airways Cargo recorded a 17% increase in revenue, \u201cachieving the best financial results since the COVID period\u201d, the company said, attributing it to its ability to adapt to shifting market conditions, its investment in digital technology, data analysis, and its reliability.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"article-leaderboard bn-1\"\/>\n<p>\u201cI know that none of the outstanding results we\u2019re announcing today would be possible without our people \u2013 more than 55,000 of them across the globe \u2013 and it\u2019s our focus on fostering that talent, which has been a core focus of our Qatar Airways 2.0 strategy,\u201d said Qatar Airways Group CEO Badr Mohammed Al-Meer.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The company also posted some of its highlights from the past financial year, including the expansion of Hamad International Airport (DOH) to accommodate 65 million passengers each year. In March 2025, the airport opened Concourses D and E, adding 17 new boarding gates and bringing the total to 62.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In May 2024, Qatar Airways became the first global airline and the first in the Middle East and North Africa region to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aerotime.aero\/articles\/qqatar-airways-starlink-announcement\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">install Starlink WiFi on its Boeing 777 fleet<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"article-leaderboard bn-2\"\/>\n<p>In February 2025, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aerotime.aero\/articles\/given-the-green-light-qatar-airways-cleared-for-25-stake-in-virgin-australia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Qatar Airways bought a 25% minority share in Virgin Australia<\/a>, according to the Australian Government\u2019s Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB). Additionally, in August 2024, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aerotime.aero\/articles\/qatar-airways-acquires-25-of-south-african-airline-airlink\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Qatar Airways acquired a 25% equity stake in South African airline Airlink<\/a>, one of Africa\u2019s largest carriers.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The group also said Qatar Airways has made significant orders for new aircraft and engines, ensuring that its fleet remains \u201cat the forefront of commercial aviation.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On May 14, 2025, Qatar Airways\u00a0signed\u00a0a historic agreement to buy jets from Boeing while US President Donald Trump was visiting the Gulf nation.
