{"id":246916,"date":"2025-05-19T07:45:05","date_gmt":"2025-05-19T07:45:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/agriculture\/nestle-to-open-first-of-its-kind-deep-tech-center-in-2026\/"},"modified":"2025-05-19T07:45:05","modified_gmt":"2025-05-19T07:45:05","slug":"nestle-to-open-first-of-its-kind-deep-tech-center-in-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=246916","title":{"rendered":"Nestl\u00e9 to open \u2018first-of-its-kind\u2019 deep tech center in 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>A new deep tech center at Nestl\u00e9\u2019s System Technology Center in Orbe, Switzerland, will open next year to expand the food and nutrition giant\u2019s capabilities in areas from robots and smart coffee machines to precision nutrition.<\/p>\n<p>The center, which will open in the first half of 2026, will \u201cbuild on existing expertise in sensor systems, solutions for product recognition, remote control and display solutions,\u201d explained Nestl\u00e9, which is on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nestle.com\/media\/pressreleases\/allpressreleases\/capital-markets-day-2024\">mission<\/a> to \u201caccelerate its digital transformation to be a real time, end-to-end connected enterprise, powered by data and artificial intelligence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Under CEO Laurent Freixe, who replaced Mark Schneider last fall, Nestl\u00e9 is focusing investment on innovations dubbed \u201cbig bets\u201d such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nescafe.com\/us\/espresso-concentrate\/\">Nescaf\u00e9 Espresso Concentrate<\/a>, which enables consumers to make caf\u00e9-style cold espresso drinks at home, and building new growth platforms in nutrition, with a particular focus on women\u2019s health.<\/p>\n<p>It has also been expanding its AI capabilities in areas such as e-commerce where the tech allows it to optimize its digital shelves and create more personalized content.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Smart coffee machines<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nestle.com\/media\/pressreleases\/allpressreleases\/bio-tech-deep-tech-research-development\">release<\/a>, the new deep tech center will \u201cscreen, test and develop new generations of sensors, robots, coding systems, high-performing AI and virtual\/mixed reality solutions to increase efficiency in research, innovation and operations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNew technologies will enable the development of smart coffee machines, innovative solutions for precision nutrition, self-controlling equipment and new solutions for dynamic quality assurance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, enhanced R&amp;D expertise in \u201ccutting-edge biotechnology and clinical research will lead to new nutritional solutions,\u201d claimed the firm. \u201cThis will further bolster Nestl\u00e9\u2019s consumer-centric innovation pipelines for maternal, early life and medical nutrition, and support new growth platforms such as healthy longevity, women\u2019s health and weight management.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cScience-based solutions will also be leveraged for Nestl\u00e9\u2019s pet care business, including pet therapeutics.\u201d<\/p>\n<h4><strong>\u2018Highly effective bioactives and biotics\u2019<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>New capabilities include the development of the next generation of screening assays, enhanced capabilities in precision fermentation, plus a reenforced clinical research program, said the firm. \u201cThese competences will drive significant advances in precision nutrition and the development of new generations of highly effective bio-actives and biotics including post- and synbiotics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>CTO Stefan Palzer added: \u201cThe industry-leading biotechnology capabilities will deliver new ingredients with clinically proven bio-efficacy for precision nutrition for people and pets along their entire lifespan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The company did not provide any details about how the center would be funded or resourced, although it implied that existing resources would be redeployed to pay for it: \u201cThese investments will be unlocked by a leaner R&amp;D organization, more agile ways of working, a focused project portfolio and the redeployment of existing R&amp;D resources.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A new deep tech center at Nestl\u00e9\u2019s System Technology Center in Orbe, Switzerland, will open next year to expand the food and nutrition giant\u2019s capabilities in areas from robots and smart coffee machines to precision nutrition.
