Whether you are a software developer, product engineer, sales team member, or part of our administrative team, at SoftInWay the contributions of all our team members are an integral part of our company\u2019s success.<\/p>\n<p>We are seeking a Computational Engineering Software Development Co-op to join our Mechanical Engineering team and work on developing software solutions to improve the reliability, performance and efficiency of our turbomachinery products. As a Software Development Co-op, you will work alongside our team on software solutions applicable to FEA simulation of machines\u2019 dynamics and strength characteristics.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop mathematical models, solution algorithms, and computational methods for applied mathematics problems in the field of mechanics of deformable solids.<\/li>\n<li>Design, develop, and implement software tools and applications for rotor dynamics analysis and structural simulations, simulation of performance and dynamic coefficients for different types of bearings and other components.<\/li>\n<li>The candidate will be engaged in the creation of the software for stress, vibration analysis and rotor dynamics tasks.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with other teams to integrate software solutions into turbomachinery design systems.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in the testing and validation of software solutions to ensure their accuracy and reliability.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct research and development of new software technologies and techniques for rotor dynamics analysis and structural FEA approaches applicable to rotating structures.<\/li>\n<li>Document and present your work to other team members, management, and stakeholders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s or Master\u2019s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science.<\/li>\n<li>Solid understanding of fundamental mathematical concepts and numerical methods, including but not limited to Finite Element Method, Finite Differences, and Iterative solvers.<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge in mechanics of deformable solids and dynamical systems analysis.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of the specifics of rotor dynamics and rotating components dynamic analysis.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of principles of operating and simulation approaches for fluid film sliding bearings.<\/li>\n<li>Strong programming skills in C++ and other programming languages.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with software development practices (OOP, SOLID) and version control systems (Git).<\/li>\n<li>Experience in coding FEM. 3-5 years of experience in FEA solvers development is preferable.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in static stress and dynamic analysis of mechanical structures.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of turbomachinery systems and software tools for mechanical analysis is a plus.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication\/collaboration skills and strong problem-solving capabilities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a class=\"btn btn-primary\" href=\"https:\/\/www.softinway.com\/careers\/submit-resume\/\">Send Resume<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Job Description SoftInWay, Inc. is a global, fast-growing engineering simulation software company voted as a part of the top 100 Startups in Massachusetts in 2021.
