{"id":242522,"date":"2025-05-15T03:54:37","date_gmt":"2025-05-15T03:54:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/animation\/chaos-adds-chaos-scans-to-cosmos-for-v-ray-update-1\/"},"modified":"2025-05-15T03:54:37","modified_gmt":"2025-05-15T03:54:37","slug":"chaos-adds-chaos-scans-to-cosmos-for-v-ray-update-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=242522","title":{"rendered":"Chaos adds Chaos Scans to Cosmos for V-Ray Update 1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Chaos Scans \u2014 Real-world material scans\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/a9GofQ54FUA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Chaos has released <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chaos.com\/blog\/vray7-update-1\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">V-Ray Update 1<\/a> (V-Ray 7.1), the latest version of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chaos.com\/vray\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">production renderer<\/a> for architectural visualization, visual effects, motion graphics and animation.<\/p>\n<p>The update makes over 3,100 scanned real-world materials from the Chaos Scans library available via Chaos Cosmos, available as part of all V-Ray subscriptions.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of writing, the Maya, SketchUp and Rhino editions have been updated, with 3ds Max, Cinema 4D and Houdini due to follow in the \u201ccoming days\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3,100+ real-world materials from Chaos Scans added to the Cosmos library<\/strong><br \/>The headline change in V-Ray 7 Update 1 is that over 3,100 scanned real-world materials from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chaos.com\/scans\" target=\"_blank\">Chaos Scans<\/a> have been added to the built-in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chaos.com\/cosmos\" target=\"_blank\">Chaos Cosmos library<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The scans provided include metal, leather, paper, plastic, rubber, and packaging materials.<\/p>\n<p>That change is partly a workflow improvement, making it possible to <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.chaos.com\/display\/VMAX\/Chaos+Cosmos+Browser\" target=\"_blank\">drag and drop materials<\/a> directly into a scene, rather than having to import them manually.<\/p>\n<p>However, it also makes the assets available to all V-Ray subscribers: whereas access to V-Ray Scans is only included in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chaos.com\/vray?srsltid=AfmBOor0HBYbHzB7WA6zOX1t9LDzynx0i1hDAs-QDZiYgyaMH-Uq1EsS#pricing\" target=\"_blank\">Premium and Enterprise plans<\/a>, Chaos Cosmos is also available with lower-priced Solo plans.<\/p>\n<p>Solo subscribers can load and render the scans, but a Premium or Enterprise subscription is still required to edit the scan data.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Currently available for Maya, Rhino and SketchUp and coming soon to other host apps<\/strong><br \/>At the time of writing, V-Ray 7 Update 1 has been released for <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.chaos.com\/display\/VMAYA\/7.10.00\" target=\"_blank\">Maya<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.chaos.com\/display\/VRHINO\/What%27s+New+in+V-Ray\" target=\"_blank\">Rhino<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.chaos.com\/display\/VSKETCHUP\/What%27s+New+in+V-Ray\" target=\"_blank\">SketchUp<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>All three also include bugfixes, and smaller feature improvements: notably, a new manually configurable distributed rendering mode, <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.chaos.com\/display\/VSKETCHUP\/Distributed+Rendering\" target=\"_blank\">Classic DR<\/a>, in the Rhino and SketchUp editions.<\/p>\n<p>Update 1 will be released for V-Ray\u2019s other actively updated integrations, which include 3ds Max, Cinema 4D and Houdini, \u201cin the coming days\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Price and system requirements<\/strong><br \/>V-Ray is available rental-only.
