Kadokawa<\/a><\/cite> announced a new cast member for the second<\/a> television anime season based on Kei Sazane<\/a><\/cite> and Ao Nekonabe<\/a><\/cite>‘s Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World<\/cite><\/cite> (Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senj\u014d, Arui wa Sekai ga Hajimaru Seisen<\/a><\/cite><\/cite>) light novel series on Tuesday. Y\u016b Kobayashi<\/a><\/cite> will be in the anime’s sixth episode on Thursday as Grugell, a witch who uses the astral power of Snow, and is also known as the “Midnight Sun Witch.” Grugell can create blizzards and produce golems out of snow, and she once destroyed a whole company of the Empire by herself.<\/p>\n

Previously announced new cast members include:\n<\/p>\n

The season resumed<\/a> airing from the first episode on April 10. The season had delayed<\/a> episodes from its fifth episode onward in August 2024 “to maintain the quality” of the release. <\/p>\n

The season premiered<\/a> on Tokyo MX<\/a><\/cite>, ABC<\/a><\/cite> TV, BS11<\/a><\/cite>, AT-X<\/a><\/cite>, and d-Anime Store on July 10 last year. The season was previously slated<\/a> to air in 2023 but was delayed<\/a> to July<\/a> 2024. Crunchyroll<\/a><\/cite> is streaming<\/a> the season, and it is also streaming an English dub<\/a><\/cite>.<\/p>\n

Yuki Inaba<\/a><\/cite> (KamiKatsu: Working for God in a Godless World<\/a><\/cite><\/cite>) is directing the new season at Studio Palette<\/a><\/cite> and SILVER LINK<\/a><\/cite>. Studio Palette<\/cite> is also in charge of the series scripts. Kaori Yoshikawa<\/a><\/cite> (KamiKatsu: Working for God in a Godless World<\/cite>) is designing the characters. Yukio Nagasaki<\/a><\/cite> (Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War<\/a><\/cite><\/cite>) is the sound director at Bit Grooove Promotion<\/a><\/cite>. Elements Garden<\/a><\/cite> (Uta no Prince Sama<\/a><\/cite><\/cite>, Symphogear<\/a><\/cite><\/cite> franchises) is composing the music. Pony Canyon<\/a><\/cite> is producing the music. <\/p>\n

AliA<\/a><\/cite> performs the season’s opening theme song “Senaka Awase” (Back to Back), while Sizuk<\/a><\/cite> performs the season’s ending theme song “Para Bellum” (Prepare for War).<\/p>\n

The first season premiered<\/a> in October 2020. Funimation<\/a><\/cite> streamed<\/a> the anime as it aired in Japan, and it also streamed an English dub<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Shin Oonuma<\/a><\/cite> (BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense.<\/a><\/cite>, ef: a tale of memories<\/a><\/cite><\/cite>, Dusk maiden of Amnesia<\/a><\/cite><\/cite>, WATAMOTE<\/a><\/cite><\/cite>) and Mirai Minato<\/a><\/cite> (BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense.<\/cite>, Fate\/kaleid liner Prisma Illya<\/a><\/cite><\/cite>, Masamune-kun’s Revenge<\/a><\/cite><\/cite>, Miss caretaker of Sunohara-sou<\/a><\/cite><\/cite>) both directed the first season at SILVER LINK<\/cite>. Kento Shimoyama<\/a><\/cite> (Death March to The Parallel World Rhapsody<\/a><\/cite>, Good Luck Girl!<\/a><\/cite><\/cite>, Servant \u00d7 Service<\/a><\/cite><\/cite>, The Ones Within<\/a><\/cite><\/cite>) was in charge of series scripts. Kaori Sat\u014d<\/a><\/cite> (episode animation director on BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense.<\/cite>, Dusk maiden of Amnesia<\/cite><\/cite>, Masamune-kun’s Revenge<\/cite><\/cite>, Shomin Sample<\/a><\/cite><\/cite>) was credited as both character designer and chief animation director.<\/p>\n

Yen Press<\/a><\/cite> is publishing<\/a> the light novels and their manga adaptation in English, and it describes the story:\n<\/p>\n

Kadokawa<\/cite> began publishing the novels in print in Japan in May 2017, and there are currently 16 volumes in print. Okama<\/a><\/cite> launched<\/a> the manga adaptation in Hakusensha<\/a><\/cite>‘s Young Animal<\/a><\/cite><\/cite> magazine in May 2018, and the manga has a total of seven volumes. The Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World: Secret File<\/a><\/cite> spinoff light novel series currently has three volumes in print.<\/p>\n
