My son recently told me that he didn\u2019t consider my work to be \u201ca real job\u201d because often he hears me talking about cupcakes and crusty bread during my \u201cmeetings.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

He\u2019s not entirely wrong; at King Arthur we spend a disproportionate amount of time thinking and talking about every aspect of the baking world, from trends (hello, fancy sheet cakes<\/a>), to techniques (we love you, reverse creaming<\/a>), to tools<\/a>, ingredients<\/a>, and cookbooks<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

We guessed other curious bakers might want in on our conversations. So, we took to the airwaves with our new podcast, Things Bakers Know<\/a>. Each episode takes a deep dive into a particular topic; for our five-episode debut season cohost David Tamarkin and I have already discussed chocolate chip cookies<\/a>, birthday cake<\/a>, and pizza;<\/a> \u00a0for the two remaining episodes this season we\u2019re talking\u00a0<\/u>sourdough<\/a> and biscuits<\/a>. On each episode, we interview other incredibly talented bakers, voice our deeply held opinions, and share fascinating stories about how baking intersects with everyday life.
