Happy Mother\u2019s Day to all the mammas out there!<\/p>\n

Kindness Activist held a Mother\u2019s Day gift making event and
\nboy howdy, did we MAKE THE GIFTS<\/i>!<\/p>\n

Each child drew a self-portrait and had a photograph
\ntaken.\u00a0 <\/span>Then they decorated a frame that
\nhad two 5 x 7 openings.\u00a0 <\/span>We printed the photos
\nand shrunk the drawings to size and voila<\/i><\/b> \u2013 fancy Mother\u2019s Day
\ngifts!<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/div>\n

Of course, it was not quite that<\/u> simple\u2026\u00a0 <\/span>There were glitter \u201cincidents\u201d. \u00a0<\/span>There was quite a lot of PAINT glopped about
\n(including the purple that must\u2019ve been on the bottom of my shoe before I walked
\ninto and through the house\u2026).\u00a0 <\/span>There were
\n\u201cgem emergencies\u201d when shiny rhinestones fell off and had to be reglued.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/div>\n

But there was joy.\u00a0
\n<\/span>Oh, was there joy<\/i>!\u00a0 <\/span>Those kids
\nwere so PROUD of their work.\u00a0 <\/span>Most were
\nvery detailed and thorough and did not rush one bit.\u00a0 <\/span>In fact, the hour-long slots we allotted were
\nnot long enough, so the craft assistants never got any breaks between sessions,
\nbecause as soon as one group finished the next group appeared.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/div>\n

One sweet girl showed up today.\u00a0 <\/span>Her mamma has been overwhelmed with work (and
\nlife), and thought today was the crafting day.\u00a0
\n<\/span>NOT TO WORRY!\u00a0 <\/span>We busted out the
\nmaterials and supplies again and let the artist (and another child who was
\nover) create!\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/div>\n

Apparently, the magic worked, because mom\u2019s have been
\nsending sweet messages of gratitude.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0
\n<\/span><\/span>My heart is full today. Thank you so much for
\norganizing the super thoughtful Mother\u2019s Day crafting project. I\u2019ve in love
\nwith my updated pics and pictures. Thanks to the fairy godmother of Penrose!\"\u2764\ufe0f\" <\/p>\n

\nconfidence grow, one brush stroke and glitter blob at a time.<\/p>\n

Number of kids who made gifts<\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span>21 (plus one child who made 2, so a total of
\n22 gifts)<\/p>\n

Kindness Activist funds spent<\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span>$279.89<\/span><\/b> (most of the paint, glitter, brushes, etc. were in
\nour craft supply already, KA funds were spent on frames, printing photos and
\nself-portraits, and wrapping paper)<\/p>\n

Cost per child<\/b>: $13.99<\/p>\n

P.S. \u2013 sorry about the glitter that will get on whatever
\ntable you place your frame on, moms.<\/p>\n
