{"id":236638,"date":"2025-05-11T14:31:03","date_gmt":"2025-05-11T14:31:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/activist\/israeli-government-approves-plan-for-full-military-occupation-of-gaza\/"},"modified":"2025-05-11T14:31:03","modified_gmt":"2025-05-11T14:31:03","slug":"israeli-government-approves-plan-for-full-military-occupation-of-gaza","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=236638","title":{"rendered":"Israeli Government Approves Plan for Full Military Occupation of Gaza"},"content":{"rendered":" \r\n<br><div>\n\n                                        \n\n\n<p><em>Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said once the new offensive begins, it will not end until the Strip is \u2018conquered\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Israeli government has approved plans\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/WsDE0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">to expand the genocidal war on Gaza<\/a>\u00a0that Israeli officials say will lead to the full Israeli military occupation of the Palestinian territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The plan involves capturing more territory in Gaza, expanding the so-called \u201cbuffer zone\u201d where the IDF has demolished virtually every structure, and forcibly displacing Palestinian civilians to move them all to a small area of southern Gaza.<\/p><div class=\"g g-1\"><div class=\"g-single a-20\"><a class=\"gofollow\" data-track=\"MjAsMSwxLDYw\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mypatriotsupply.com\/collections\/emergency-survival-food?_ef_transaction_id=&amp;uid=22&amp;oid=1&amp;affid=509\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"850\" height=\"500\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.activistpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/MPS-Ad-1.jpg\"\/><\/a><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Axios<\/em>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2025\/05\/05\/israel-gaza-destroy-trump-deal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">later reported<\/a>\u00a0that the Israeli plan involves flattening every single building that remains in Gaza, forcing the entire civilian population into one single area, and pressuring them to leave as part of an ethnic cleansing plan, though it\u2019s unclear what countries are willing to take them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An Israeli official told\u00a0<em>Haaretz<\/em>\u00a0that the plan is different from previous Israeli military operations because it will lead to \u201cthe occupation of territory and a sustained Israeli presence in Gaza.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesofisrael.com\/smotrich-israel-should-embrace-gaza-occupation-idf-wont-leave-even-for-hostages\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said Israel is<\/a>\u00a0\u201cfinally going to occupy the Gaza Strip\u201d and that it was \u201cno longer afraid of the word \u2018occupation.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/news.antiwar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/IDF-troops-in-Rafah.jpg.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/news.antiwar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/IDF-troops-in-Rafah.jpg-1024x576.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-154844\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em><sup>Israeli troops in Rafah, southern Gaza (IDF photo)<\/sup><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Smotrich said that once the new offensive starts, nothing will stop Israel\u2019s plans to \u201cconquer\u201d Gaza, not even Hamas releasing all the Israeli hostages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere will be no retreat from the territories we have conquered, not even in exchange for hostages,\u201d Smotrich said. \u201cOnce we occupy and stay, we can talk about sovereignty. But I did not demand that this be included among the goals of the war. First, we will defeat Hamas and prevent it from existing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both Smotrich and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have made clear that freeing the hostage<a href=\"https:\/\/news.antiwar.com\/2025\/05\/01\/netanyahu-says-freeing-hostages-is-not-his-priority\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">s is not their priority<\/a>\u00a0and that the ultimate goal is ethnic cleansing, which they frame as \u201cvoluntary migration.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A group representing the family members of Israeli captives held in Gaza slammed the new plan for Gaza. The Hostages and Missing Families Forum said the plan should be named the \u201cSmotrich-Netanyahu plan\u201d to \u201cgive up on the hostages and Israel\u2019s security and national resilience.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to\u00a0<em>AFP<\/em>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.middleeasteye.net\/live-blog\/live-blog-update\/israel-allow-window-hostage-deal-expanded-gaza-campaign-security?nid=421833&amp;topic=Israel%2527s%2520war%2520on%2520Gaza&amp;fid=544392\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">an Israeli official said\u00a0<\/a>Israel would allow a \u201cwindow\u201d to reach a hostage deal with Hamas during President Trump\u2019s visit to the region, which will begin on May 13, before launching the offensive. But a deal is unlikely since Israel has\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.antiwar.com\/2025\/02\/19\/hamas-offers-to-release-all-remaining-israeli-hostages-in-exchange-for-a-permanent-ceasefire\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">repeatedly rejected<\/a>\u00a0an offer from Hamas for all the captives to be freed in exchange for a permanent truce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0<em>Axios<\/em>\u00a0report said that President Trump isn\u2019t pushing for a ceasefire deal and has \u201ceffectively given Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a green light to do as he sees fit.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The approval of the plan to take over Gaza comes after over two months of a total Israeli blockade on the Strip, and as children\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/DropSiteNews\/status\/1919397635867213994\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">are starving to death<\/a>\u00a0due to the lack of aid.
