The REAL ID Act<\/a> of 2005, follows the \u201drecommendation that the Federal Government sets standards for the issuance of sources of identification, such as driver\u2019s licenses and identification cards\u201d. Beginning May 7th 2025, passengers aged 18 and over who plan to fly within the US domestically, or visit federal facilities will need a REAL ID.<\/p>\n

What is a REAL ID?<\/h2>\n

A REAL ID is a driver\u2019s license or identification card which counts as a federally accepted form of ID. These new ID cards are marked with a golden bear and a star, to make checks at TSA or elsewhere easier. You will need one in order to travel<\/a> via plane domestically within the US.<\/p>\n
