Anti-Dumping Duty on Textured Tempered Glass From China PR and Vietnam for a Period of 5 Years<\/strong><\/p>\n The Government of India<\/strong> has imposed anti-dumping duties<\/strong> on certain types of glasses<\/strong> that are being imported<\/strong> to India<\/strong> from China<\/strong> and Vietnam<\/strong> for five years<\/strong> in order to protect the domestic industry<\/strong>. An investigation that was done by the Directorate General of Trade Remedies<\/strong> (DGTR) revealed that this glass was sold at very low prices<\/strong>, below the normal price<\/strong>.<\/p>\n After completing the investigation, the DGTR<\/strong> confirmed the earlier findings<\/strong> and concluded<\/strong> that there was a huge rise in low-priced imports<\/strong> of this glass<\/strong> from China and Vietnam<\/strong> and these goods were being sold in India at dumped prices<\/strong>. This had harmed the local glass manufacturers in India.<\/p>\n Therefore, based on these final conclusions, the government has now officially decided to impose anti-dumping duties<\/strong> on these glass imports from China and Vietnam. This measure is aimed at protecting<\/strong> Indian<\/strong> businesses<\/strong> from unfair competition<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The anti-dumping duty imposed under the notification is applicable for five years<\/strong> from the date of imposition of the provisional anti-dumping duty (December 4, 2024<\/strong>), unless it is cancelled<\/strong> or amended<\/strong>. The duty must be paid in Indian currency<\/strong>.<\/p>\n As per the Notification No. 11\/2025-CUSTOMS (ADD)<\/strong>, dated May 8, 2025<\/strong>, issued by the Ministry of Finance, \u201c in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (1)<\/strong> and (5)<\/strong> of section 9A<\/strong> of the Customs Tariff Act<\/strong> read with rules 18, 20 and 23<\/strong> of the Customs Tariff<\/strong> (Identification, Assessment and Collection of Antidumping Duty on Dumped Articles and for Determination of Injury) Rules, 1995<\/strong>, the Central Government<\/strong>, on the basis of the aforesaid final findings<\/strong> of the designated authority<\/strong>, hereby imposes on the subject goods<\/strong>, the description of which is specified in column (3)<\/strong> of the Table below, falling under the heading\/sub-heading of the First Schedule<\/strong> to the Customs Tariff Act<\/strong> as specified in the corresponding entry in column (2)<\/strong>, originating in the countries as specified in the corresponding entry in column (4)<\/strong>, exported from the countries as specified in the corresponding entry in column (5)<\/strong>, produced by the producers<\/strong> as specified in the corresponding entry in column (6)<\/strong>, and imported<\/strong> into India<\/strong>, a reference form of anti-dumping<\/strong> duty<\/strong> at the rate equal to the difference between the landed value of subject goods and the reference amount specified in the corresponding entry in column (7)<\/strong>, provided the landed value<\/strong> is less than the value indicated in column (7)<\/strong>, in the currency as specified in the corresponding entry in column (9)<\/strong> and as per unit of measurement as specified in the corresponding entry in column (8)<\/strong> of the said Table<\/em>\u201c.<\/p>\n Refer to the official notification for more information.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Join StudyCafe Membership.
