The difference is very obvious and my Carrefour supermarket even reduced the shelf space where these foods are displayed. Certain types of meat that used to be regularly available are no longer are (at all, ever), and I can only find them from specialty butcher shops which thankfully still exist in France (although they are noticeably fewer now than they used to be).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is not an accident but, as the British farmer and activist\u00a0<strong>Mark Byford<\/strong>\u00a0(a.k.a.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCPDBiVZHgBpYZL9ARqKc9OA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the Bowler Hat Farmer<\/a>) lays out in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/CryptoRichYT\/status\/1918045045468610891\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this (highly recommended) interview<\/a>, it is part of the global war on farming, comprising a barrage of administrative and regulatory measures designed to make farming unprofitable, incentivizing farmers not to produce food and encouraging them to sell their farms: it\u2019s war on carbon, war on nitrogen, war on bird flu and other viruses, war on Russian fertilizers, inheritance taxes, rewilding schemes, \u201cget out of farming\u201d payouts and burgeoning compliance rules and bureaucracies to oversee it all.<\/p><div class=\"g g-1\"><div class=\"g-single a-13\"><a class=\"gofollow\" data-track=\"MTMsMSwxLDYw\" href=\"https:\/\/thegrownetwork.com\/fundraiser\/?oid=132&amp;affid=305\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.activistpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Grow-Network-Soil-800x534-1.png\"\/><\/a><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><a class=\"image-link image2 is-viewable-img\" href=\"https:\/\/substackcdn.com\/image\/fetch\/f_auto,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep\/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2Ff0c94d04-3080-4414-bff3-02982c74c770_2101x1181.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1456\" height=\"818\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/substackcdn.com\/image\/fetch\/w_1456,c_limit,f_auto,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep\/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2Ff0c94d04-3080-4414-bff3-02982c74c770_2101x1181.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-raise-weeds-and-grow-rich\"><br\/>Raise weeds and grow rich!<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, Byford explained that if you grow wheat in Britain, you can earn about \u00a3160 per acre. It\u2019s hard work and it involves considerable expense. At the same time, the government is promoting the so-called \u201cset-aside\u201d or rewilding schemes and will pay farmers \u00a3300-\u00a3400 per acre to let weeds grow on their land. For farmers, it\u2019s more income, less expense and less work. Another line of attack has been directed at milk production: farmers are locked into exclusive supply contracts with corporate buyers who often fail to collect the milk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a consequence, tens of thousands of liters a day are being simply dumped, causing farmers massive financial losses. Apparently, given the nature of their supply contracts, they have no way of recovering these losses. As a result, milk shortages appear at the same time as the farmers are forced to dump about half of their production. Egg shortage has been orchestrated under \u201cbird flu\u201d emergencies, justifying the culling of millions of birds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-72-less-food\">72% less food<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Food production is also being suffocated through regulatory measures. Active farmers are buried under the burgeoning regulatory requirements, forcing them to spend long hours filing endless forms to be compliant with burgeoning rules and regulations. Many of the new rules, including the \u201cget out of farming payments scheme,\u201d effectively punish or discourage food production while incentivizing the farmers to sell their farms. Farmland is then often bought by global investment behemoths like BlackRock and Vanguard. The result is that livestock is gradually disappearing and food production is shrinking, which is by now obvious to see in our supermarkets. Now there are reports that the UK government is planning a mass culling of livestock towards the end of 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Byford, similar measures are being pursued in Ireland, the EU as well as in India and many African countries with the effect that today there is 72% less food moving through global distribution chains than in the pre-pandemic period. Most probably, this is all caused by climate change or perhaps Russia, Russia, Russia, or China, China, China. However, there\u2019s also a strange coincidence that all these measures appear to have been planned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-it-s-the-absolute-zero-agenda\">It\u2019s the \u201cAbsolute Zero\u201d agenda<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>A major policy paper, titled \u201c<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukfires.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Absolute-Zero-online.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Absolute Zero<\/a><\/strong>,\u201d was published on 29 November 2019 as a collaboration between the leading British universities including Cambridge, Oxford, Nottingham, Bath and the Imperial College of London. This was all funded by the UK\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukri.org\/councils\/epsrc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council<\/a>\u00a0(EPSRC) and it laid out the strategy of reaching zero carbon emissions in accordance with the chillingly distopian UK\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/bills.parliament.uk\/bills\/195\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Climate Change Act of 2008<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"570\" src=\"https:\/\/www.activistpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image-30-1024x570.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15210\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.activistpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image-30-1024x570.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.activistpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image-30-300x167.png 300w, https:\/\/www.activistpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image-30-768x428.png 768w, https:\/\/www.activistpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image-30.png 1304w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em><sup>Monstrous.<\/sup><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br\/>The Absolute Zeros recommended that, \u201c<em>In addition to reducing our energy demand, delivering zero emissions with today\u2019s technologies requires the phasing out of flying, shipping, lamb and beef, blast furnace steel and cement.<\/em>\u201d It\u2019s interesting that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EdConwaySky\/status\/1770533829494636927\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the UK has now shut down its last blast furnace<\/a>\u00a0making it the only G7 nation without a steel industry. Meanwhile, as far as the corporate media are concerned, this is a \u201cChina, China, China\u201d story, and nobody\u2019s mentioning the \u201cAbsolute Zero\u201d agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyhow, back to farming: the agenda is that between 2020 and 2029, the consumption of beef and lamb must drop by 50% and by 2050 it must be \u201cphased out.\u201d Also, all construction of new buildings must cease by 2050. \u201cAbsolute Zero\u201d agenda (note, it was drafted well in advance of the Covid 19 pandemic), has full support and commitment of the British government, the same government that has incentivized billions of pounds to be invested in solar energy and is now planning to spray the skies to dim the sun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Free world: changing some behaviors, prohibiting others<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, the genius behind Absolute Zero plans have anticipated resistance from proles and peasants of the nation, so they touched upon the behavioral measures that will be necessary:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201c<em>The changes in behaviour to achieve Absolute Zero are clearly substantial. In principle, these changes could be induced through changing prices and thus providing clear incentives for behaviour to change. The alternative is that the government prohibits certain types of behaviour and regulates production processes<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Evidently, those who set the agenda understand that they must achieve their objectives against the will of the people and that the changes must \u201cbe induced.\u201d Thankfully, the deplorable farmers and the proles have other ideas and pushback is building up along with alternative food systems, organized from the bottom up. We can expect the governments in the UK and elsewhere to try and suppress these alternatives, but having or not having food to eat is too important to capitulate to government intimidation.
