VFX artist Rob Dickinson (Decoded<\/a>) has released Mesh Cleaner for Blender<\/a>, a handy free add-on for fixing common errors with 3D models in one click.<\/p>\n

The Python script is targeted at cleaning up 3D scans, but can be used to prepare any 3D model for rendering, animation or 3D printing.<\/p>\n

Mesh Cleaner groups all of Blender\u2019s key geometry-cleaning tools into one UI panel, making it possible to fix all of the common artifacts that cause rendering problems in a single click.<\/p>\n

As well as removing double vertices and loose geometry, the add-on identifies and fills holes in meshes, and converts triangles to all-quad meshes for ease of editing and animation.<\/p>\n
