UK scientists want \u00a350M to dim the sun and fight climate change\u2014because nothing says \u201csolution\u201d like blocking out the thing that keeps us alive.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHere comes the sun, and I say, it\u2019s all right<\/a>\u201d \u2013 Wrong, Mr. Harrison!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGood day sunshine<\/a>\u201d \u2013 Not so fast, Mr. Lennon and Mr. McCartney!<\/p>

<\/a><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Standing with both hands extended for a \u00a350 million squeeze of the public teat, United Kingdom scientists claim the sun you celebrate in song contributes to \u201crunaway climate change.\u201d And these white-robed high priests of perfidious Albion\u2019s climate cult have a novel idea to control the weather and forestall the impending apocalypse: dimming the sun. (Apparently, for these climate cult dimwits,\u00a0sunshine on their shoulders<\/a>\u00a0makes them anything but happy.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Per\u00a0Simon Kent\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0article in\u00a0Breitbart News<\/a>, this is not the only harebrained scheme these literal dimwits at Aria (the Advanced Research and Invention Agency) promise for someone else\u2019s money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the\u00a0Daily Telegraph<\/em><\/a>, a host of possible options for climate control are being considered by scientists with government approval alongside \u00a350 million in taxpayer funds:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scientists are considering outdoor field trials, which could include injecting aerosols into the atmosphere or brightening clouds to reflect sunshine, as a way to prevent runaway climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clearly, the old-school itinerant cloud seeders preying upon the angst of drought-riddled farmers and their small towns have nothing on Aria and its siren song of salvation, for they have the entire UK government on board to foot the bill for what should have been named \u201cOperation\u00a0Daedalus<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But though the dimwits will be confronting the sun, they assure us that, unlike the heedless youth in Greek mythology who flew too close to the sun, these climate cultists vow to not go down in flames.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Professor Mark Symes, there will be \u201csmall controlled outdoor experiments on particular approaches.\u201d The professor then went on to preemptively calm any member of the public who had been traumatized by Mary Shelley\u2019s\u00a0Frankenstein<\/em><\/a>\u00a0and had qualms with a lab-coated, modern Prometheus playing God:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEverything we do is going to be safe by design. We\u2019re absolutely committed to responsible research, including responsible outdoor research\u2026 We have strong requirements around the length of time experiments can run for and their reversibility, and we won\u2019t be funding the release of any toxic substances to the environment.\u201d (Author\u2019s Note: The professor is not funding anything. The British public is.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

See? The only thing going up in flames is someone else\u2019s money. Besides, what could go wrong when prospectively using \u201cstratospheric aerosol injection\u201d that \u201cwould see scientists launching sulfate particles into the Earth\u2019s lower stratosphere at altitudes up 12 miles high?\u201d Unforeseen consequences, you say? Please. Next, you\u2019ll claim that COVID resulted from a lab leak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nevertheless, one cannot help but wonder how dimming the sun in that renowned fun-in-the-sun island known as England will prevent climate change. Given the UK\u2019s increasing war on free speech, it is best not to ask or to have\u00a0\u201cLet the Sunshine In\u201d<\/a>\u00a0on your iPod.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh, wait. It isn\u2019t just us recalcitrant climate deniers worried about the unforeseen consequences of trying to change the weather?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\u00a0Telegraph<\/em>\u00a0notes geoengineering projects that seek to artificially alter the climate have proven controversial, with critics arguing they could bring damaging knock-on effects. This has been noted previously when scientists looked to \u201cdimming the sun\u201d as a way to shield the Earth\u2019s surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a rich irony in environmental radicals who only eat organic foods, blithely supporting using artificial means to unnaturally diminish sunlight. I guess it is the climate cult\u2019s version of \u201cWe have to destroy a village to save it\u201d\u2014perhaps with dimwits crooning, \u201cI\u2019m blocking out sunshine<\/a>\u201d to the tune of Katrina and the Waves 1980s hit?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regardless, the climate cult\u2014starting with the dimwits\u2014refuses to admit how all the diplomas and degrees in the world cannot render\u00a0anyone<\/em>\u00a0infallible. And therein is another more bitter irony: what if a climate apocalypse is manmade\u2014by dimwits like these messing up nature by trying to stop it<\/em>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyway, \u201cit\u2019s getting near dawn, when lights close their tired eyes,\u201d and mine are glazing over at the climate cult\u2019s toxic imbecility on display. Suffice to say, however the dimwits give us their \u201cdawn surprise<\/a>,\u201d we can but hope they don\u2019t usher in the next Ice Age\u2014or worse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wait! We cannot succumb to our worst fears. That\u2019s what the climate cultists do. No, Annie is right, \u201cThe sun will come up\u00a0tomorrow<\/a>.\u201d After all, the British public just bet their bottom \u00a350 million on it, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n \n <\/div>\r\n
