We urge Arizonans in the 7th District to make the humane choice and elect Adelita Grijalva to Congress.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Grijalva has pledged to support important federal animal welfare issues, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Supporting legislation like the <strong>Better Collaboration, Accountability and Regulatory Enforcement (CARE) for Animals Act<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/119th-congress\/house-bill\/3112\">H.R. 3112<\/a>) to give the U.S. Department of Justice the tools it needs to strengthen enforcement of the Animal Welfare Act (AWA) and help deter perpetual violators.<\/li>\n<li>Supporting the <strong>Puppy Protection Act<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/119th-congress\/house-bill\/2253\/actions\">H.R. 2253<\/a>) to address serious gaps in welfare standards for tens of thousands of breeding dogs and puppies at large-scale breeding operations licensed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.<\/li>\n<li>Supporting the <strong>Humane Cosmetics Act<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/119th-congress\/house-bill\/1657\">H.R. 1657<\/a>) to phase out testing of cosmetics on live animals and sales of animal-tested cosmetics in the U.S.<\/li>\n<li>Supporting the <strong>Save America\u2019s Forgotten Equines (SAFE) Act<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/119th-congress\/house-bill\/1661\">H.R. 1661<\/a>) to prohibit the reopening of horse slaughter plants in the U.S. and the export of American horses to slaughter for human consumption.<\/li>\n<li>Supporting the <strong>Prevent All Soring Tactics (PAST) Act<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/119th-congress\/house-bill\/1684\/text\">H.R. 1684<\/a>) to crack down on \u201csoring,\u201d in which trainers deliberately inflict severe pain on the hooves and legs of Tennessee walking horses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Arizona\u2019s 7th Congressional District was previously represented by the late Rep. Ra\u00fal Grijalva. He was a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/humaneactfund\/status\/1901685032269623765\">steadfast champion for animals<\/a> and a founding member of the Congressional Animal Protection Caucus.
