These films alone pose a decent argument for 1975 as the greatest year in film, but so much more was happening outside of a Hollywood system in the midst of one of its most exciting moments. Experimental filmmaker Chantal Akerman made her biggest statement to date, and emerged with what is now considered \u201cthe greatest film of all time. In Senegal, renegade Ousmane Semb\u00e8ne adapted his own novel into a stunning satire.
