You
\nspend hours, if not days, honing your opening, crafting your expert examination
\nquestions, drilling down your closing arguments.<\/p>\n

As
\nwell you should, for there\u2019s nothing like diligent preparation to ensure solid
\ntrial work. However, as important as your preparation is, how the jurors are
\ngoing to receive the result of all that intense prep is equally important.<\/p>\n

Studies
\nconsistently reveal that people forget most readily what they hear. Memory is
\nfar better for things that people see or touch. So it\u2019s not only what has long
\nbeen established – that people absorb communication better when it\u2019s visual as
\nwell as auditory – but also that words are too easily forgotten.<\/p>\n

And
\nif there\u2019s anything you need when those jurors go into the jury room, it\u2019s for
\nthem to remember your salient points.<\/p>\n

The
\ntemptation is to reproduce on PowerPoint or other visual media, lots of text,
\nso that jurors both see and hear relevant testimony. That\u2019s certainly useful,
\nbut you might also consider taking a page from Steve Jobs\u2019 presentations.
\nRegardless of what one may think about the man or his product, Jobs\u2019
\npresentations are universally considered among the most compelling ever.<\/p>\n

Jobs
\nmastered the art of a single image capturing the essence of his point.
\nSometimes a single word, or a single number. These are the visual equivalent of
\n\u201cbullet points,\u201d but with far more effectiveness than the usual list of bullet
\npoints since images are easily and often forcefully, remembered.<\/p>\n
