In January 2025, <a href=\"https:\/\/onemileatatime.com\/news\/st-regis-aruba\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">we saw the opening of the St. Regis Aruba<\/a>, and now we\u2019ve seen the opening of the brand\u2019s first property in the Dominican Republic. Let\u2019s cover the details.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-basics-of-the-new-st-regis-cap-cana-dominican-republic\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"basics_of_the_new_st_regis_cap_cana_dominican_republic\"\/>Basics of the new St. Regis Cap Cana, Dominican Republic<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marriott.com\/en-us\/hotels\/pujxr-the-st-regis-cap-cana-resort\/overview\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The St. Regis Cap Cana<\/a>\u00a0has opened as of late April 2025. It\u2019s located on the east coast of the Dominican Republic, near Punta Cana.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/1019006\/OMAAT_InContent --><\/p>\n<p>The property has 200 keys, including 174 guest rooms and 26 suites. In terms of amenities, the resort features four pools, beach access, a spa with 13 treatment rooms, a fitness center, a club for kids, St. Regis butler service, and more. Also near the property will be the 18-hole waterfront Punta Espada golf course, designed by Jack Nicklaus.<\/p>\n<p>The resort has a staggering nine food and beverage outlets, including Nina (in collaboration with chef Diego Mu\u00f1oz, open for dinner), Cassava (a Latin American restaurant, open all day), The Amber Room (a rum and cigar bar), Carey Bay Seaside Bar (a casual outdoor restaurant open for lunch and dinner), Kawa Coffee Shop (a coffee and chocolate shop), and more.<\/p>\n<p>Entry level rooms at the St. Regis Cap Cana start at 560 square feet (50 square meters). To those who have been, how do you compare it to other Caribbean islands?<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-st-regis-cap-cana-rates-amp-points-requirements\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"st_regis_cap_cana_rates_points_requirements\"\/>St. Regis Cap Cana rates &amp; points requirements<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h2>\n<p>With the St. Regis Cap Cana now open, what are rates like? Not surprisingly, it\u2019s an expensive property, given proximity to the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Pricing varies a bit by season. Currently I see entry level rooms starting at $600 to $1,100 per night, give or take. However, that\u2019s before the 28% in taxes and service charges, which really increase rates considerably.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"744\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.onemileatatime.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/St-Regis-Cap-Cana-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-341059\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">St. Regis Cap Cana cash rates<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>If you are going to book a cash stay, I\u2019d highly recommend doing so through\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/onemileatatime.com\/marriott-stars-luminous\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Marriott STARS program<\/a>. This will score you perks like complimentary breakfast, a $100 food &amp; beverage credit, a room upgrade subject to availability, and more.<\/p>\n<p>For those looking to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/onemileatatime.com\/guides\/marriott-bonvoy-points\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">redeem Marriott Bonvoy points<\/a>, I see rates starting at 102,000 Bonvoy points per night. Keep in mind that you can receive a fifth night free on award redemptions, which will stretch your points even further. This has the potential to be a good redemption option, given that when you\u2019re redeeming points, you don\u2019t have to pay the 28% in taxes and service charges.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"664\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.onemileatatime.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/St-Regis-Cap-Cana-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-341060\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">St. Regis Cap Cana points rates<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-bottom-line\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"bottom_line\"\/>Bottom line<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h2>\n<p>The St. Regis Cap Cana, Dominican Republic, has opened as of April 2025. It\u2019s always nice to have more Caribbean points properties, and I imagine this will be popular with Bonvoy members. The Dominican Republic is largely known for all-inclusive resorts, so it\u2019s interesting to see Marriott bring one of its most luxurious brands there.
