{"id":217311,"date":"2025-05-01T18:44:28","date_gmt":"2025-05-01T18:44:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/activist\/zelensky-wants-to-mooch-off-u-s-like-israel-if-he-agrees-to-peace-deal\/"},"modified":"2025-05-01T18:44:28","modified_gmt":"2025-05-01T18:44:28","slug":"zelensky-wants-to-mooch-off-u-s-like-israel-if-he-agrees-to-peace-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=217311","title":{"rendered":"Zelensky Wants to Mooch Off U.S. Like Israel if He Agrees to Peace Deal"},"content":{"rendered":" \r\n<br><div>\n\n                                        \n\n\n<p><strong><em>The idea of an \u2018Israel Plan\u2019 for Ukraine first surfaced in 2023<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told reporters on Friday that any peace deal with Russia would require the promise of sustained support from the U.S., similar to the way Washington provides for Israel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDiscussions in London have focused on security guarantees from the United States,\u201d he said,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/news\/616340-zelensky-israel-us-support\/\">according to RT.<\/a>\u00a0\u201cWe hope them t<strong>o be at least as robust as those provided to Israel.<\/strong>\u00a0Additionally, we anticipate support from our European partners and are actively developing the infrastructure necessary for these guarantees.\u201d<\/p><div class=\"g g-1\"><div class=\"g-single a-17\"><a class=\"gofollow\" data-track=\"MTcsMSwxLDYw\" href=\"https:\/\/thegrownetwork.com\/fundraiser\/?oid=132&amp;affid=305\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"465\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.activistpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Offgrid-Survival-Toolkit-2.jpg\"\/><\/a><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"GLOBAL CHAOS: MANIACS IN CHARGE, WAR HAWKS ON PARADE\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/AdClvLfql5A?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br\/>Zelensky, who is Jewish, told reporters in 2022 that he eventually sees Ukraine becoming a \u201cbig Israel,\u201d with soldiers inside \u201csupermarkets, cinemas, there will be people with weapons.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.atlanticcouncil.org\/blogs\/new-atlanticist\/ukraine-needs-nato-membership-not-an-israel-model\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Atlantic Council<\/a>\u00a0noted that an \u201cIsrael Plan\u201d for Ukraine surfaced during the Joe Biden years and was seen as an alternative to NATO membership, which Biden didn\u2019t allow. (Trump has said he does not believe Kyiv will ever join the alliance.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The think tank wrote:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>While Washington does not provide Israel with security guarantees\u2014commitments to intervene militarily in the event of an attack\u2014its military aid has enabled Israel to develop one of the world\u2019s premier fighting forces.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/06\/14\/us\/politics\/biden-nato-ukraine.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The New York Times reported\u00a0<\/a>in 2023 that Biden\u2019s aides mentioned the idea of an arrangement with Ukraine that could resemble the \u201cIsrael model,\u201d which \u201chas a 10-year-long security commitment\u201d that sends $38 billion in military aid to Israel from 2019 to 2028.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The paper wrote:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>While Ukraine\u2019s would almost certainly be shorter, the idea, administration officials say, would be to convince Mr. Putin that the flow of arms and training to Kyiv will not flag \u2014 and to bleed some of the politics out of episodic debates about how much aid to commit to Ukraine in the next six months or a year.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><a class=\"image-link image2\" href=\"https:\/\/watson.brown.edu\/costsofwar\/papers\/2024\/USspendingIsrael\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1100\" height=\"1100\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/substackcdn.com\/image\/fetch\/w_1456,c_limit,f_auto,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep\/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2Fa7bacb78-7054-4cab-9213-2ce1bc4a3c3c_1100x1100.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br\/>No matter what political party is in charge in the U.S., Israel benefits from near-limitless support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The U.S. has, for decades, provided Israel with up to $4 billion annually for its military. When House Speaker Mike Johnson took the gavel in October 2023, he told Congress his top priority was Israel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><a class=\"image-link image2\" href=\"https:\/\/trendsjournal.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"526\" height=\"680\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/substackcdn.com\/image\/fetch\/w_1456,c_limit,f_auto,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep\/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2F7ab46783-cf1b-4b6d-85b1-6665f1f6d636_526x680.jpeg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><strong>SUBSCRIBE<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In March, U.S. President Donald Trump invoked his \u201cemergency authority\u201d to bypass Congress and approve another $4 billion in weapon sales to Israel, which provided Tel Aviv with 35,529 2,000 MK 84 bombs and 4,000 I-2000 Penetrator warheads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of Trump\u2019s first moves as president was to restart shipments of 2,000-pound bombs to Israel that were paused under the Biden administration over concerns that the country was cavalier with their use on civilian targets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., spoke out against the arms deal and filed joint resolutions of disapproval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The senator said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu used U.S.-provided bombs to \u201cdamage or destroy almost 70 percent of the structures in Gaza, including hundreds of schools.
