In the end of 2022 Little Simz released her album ‘NO THANK YOU’. This title is a double entendra which can be interpreted as no thank you or no, thank you. This nine album track came as a surprise and continues on Simz’s legacy as an artist who is always searching within their soul for some answers. Each track on this album has its own unique sound with a similar message. No Merci means no thank you in French. Once again, Simz uses a double entendra to also mean no mercy. Simz slides on the synths and bass with ease. This song tells the story of Simz’s troubles when first entering into the industry. Although she came into the industry with the intentions of making a dream come true and spreading a message, she was not prepared for the wolves in sheeps clothing that she would encounter. Simz is able to overcome and encourages black people to shine in life without shame. This song reads as a freestyle. Simz flows straight through to the end.
