{"id":210001,"date":"2025-04-28T04:09:17","date_gmt":"2025-04-28T04:09:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/ambient-music\/beats-live-score-disquiet\/"},"modified":"2025-04-28T04:09:17","modified_gmt":"2025-04-28T04:09:17","slug":"beats-live-score-disquiet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=210001","title":{"rendered":"Beats, Live, Score \u2013 Disquiet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"post-72046\">\n\t<!-- .entry-header --><\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>On Sundays I try to at least quickly note some of my favorite listening from the week prior \u2014 things I would later regret having not written about in more depth, so better to share here briefly than not at all.<\/p>\n<p>\u25b0\u00a0Very much enjoying the recent <strong>Barker<\/strong> album, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/sambarker.bandcamp.com\/album\/stochastic-drift\">Stochastic Drift<\/a><\/em> (released by Smalltown Supersound on April 4), especially the heavy <em>Selected Ambient Works Volume II<\/em> vibe of the track \u201cPositive Disintegration.\u201d (Barker is British, and lives in Berlin.)<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"640\" height=\"406\" style=\"position: relative; display: block; width: 640px; height: 406px;\" src=\"https:\/\/bandcamp.com\/EmbeddedPlayer\/v=2\/album=758871653\/size=large\/bgcol=ffffff\/linkcol=0687f5\/artwork=small\/\" allowtransparency=\"true\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u25b0\u00a0Fantastic live set from jazz bassist <strong>Linda May Han Oh<\/strong> (Malaysia-born, Australia-raised), with <strong>Ambrose Akinmusire<\/strong> (trumpet \u2014 Oakland, California) and Pulitzer Prize winner <strong>Tyshawn Sorey<\/strong> (drums, New Jersey), recorded at the Keith Haring Theater, Performance Space, NY, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Ruou8PtETa0&amp;t=1008s\">back in January<\/a>. Akinmusire is a somewhat recent favorite of mine, and I love hearing my instrumentalist favorites in supporting, or at least non-leading, roles.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Linda May Han Oh w\/Ambrose Akinmusire, Tyshawn Sorey | Performance Space NY 1\/10\/2025 (complete set)\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Ruou8PtETa0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>\u25b0 Dutch musician\u00a0<strong>Rutger Hoedemaekers<\/strong>\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/rutgerhoedemaekers.bandcamp.com\/album\/moresnet-original-television-series-soundtrack\">score for the science fiction TV series <em>Moresnet<\/em><\/a> is moody and dramatic \u2014 cinematic, for sure, but also pleasingly touched by the weird.
