Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL), has
\nappointed British national Richard Nuttall<\/b>, former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sri Lankan Airlines, as its new President, effective May 29, 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nuttall will be the first foreign President for the national carrier as it aims to accelerate the airline\u2019s international
\nexpansion and drive for\u00a0 \u201csustainable growth.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAppointing Richard Nuttall to Philippine Airlines is an important
\npart of our medium-term and long-term strategy of building a robust
\nmanagement team and growing our business internationally,\u201d said PAL
\nHoldings President and Chief Operating Officer Lucio C. Tan III.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI am confident that he will create and develop sustainable growth
\nfor PAL,\u201d PAL Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Lucio C. Tan said.<\/span><\/p>\n

PAL said the company\u2019s current president and chief operating officer
\n(COO), Stanley K. Ng, will assume a new role as vice-president of PAL
\nHoldings, Inc. and a member of the company\u2019s board of directors.<\/span><\/p>\n

PAL said Mr. Ng\u2019s appointment at its parent company is expected to
\nprovide the flag carrier with strategic direction and vision in bringing
\n the airline to a new level of service and profitability.<\/span><\/p>\n

Further, PAL said its general counsel, Carlos Luis L. Fernandez, will
\n also take on a new role as executive vice-president and chief operating
\n officer effective May 29.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Industry sources stated that Nuttall joining PAL is viewed as crucial in positioning PR for greater global competitiveness and strategic partnerships as the airline prepares its modernization strategy and route expansion plans coupled with operational excellence. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
