Ask AI anything and it will confidently respond. It’ll plan your workouts, take meeting notes and redesign your living room, but are the results good quality and without mistakes? For low-stakes items, you’re probably willing to find out. But when it comes to career-defining moves, you might be wondering: Can AI alone do the job? Can it capture my brand’s essence, handle compliance, and create content that audiences connect with? At Contently, where we live and breathe content and technology, we believe the answer is no.

But that doesn’t mean AI is out of the picture. Instead, we’re betting on talented editors supported by AI-assisted content workflows to meet the demands of enterprise marketing.

AI’s disappointing expectation vs. reality

Anyone using AI tools to generate content can attest to its limitations. The outputs reflect varying voices, have inconsistent content quality, and pose compliance risks. Without human review, copy often lacks the depth and authenticity required to meet strategic goals. And unless you’re an editor with the time, energy and experience to overhaul weirdly written copy, the task can feel overwhelming. Yet AI’s speed remains a captivating benefit, and a lot of teams are willing to accept less-than-stellar copy if it means easily hitting deadlines.

Contently’s editor-driven, AI-assisted content

Thankfully, it doesn’t have to be an either/or scenario. At Contently, we offer an AI-assisted content workflow. Our tech team partnered with our storytelling pros, who shared their insights and expertise, and created a tool that editors can use to leverage the benefits of AI without sacrificing quality.

The best of both worlds

Contently AI Studio generates content that is fact checked, context aware, SEO and LLM optimized, on brand and in your brand voice. But we still depend on managing editors to oversee every AI Writer output, rigorously reviewing and editing each draft for accuracy, tone, and compliance with guidelines. By keeping people in the process — expert editors no less — we’re able to achieve the results AI promises without the pitfalls:
