\nIn light of a recent \u201cEssential BBQ list for Houstonians” firestorm on social media, I\u2019m compelled to try and rectify what was at the very least some
\nshort-sighted and misguided information.<\/span><\/div>\n
\n
\nThere are literally dozens of BBQ purveyors in our city; some are not so
\ngood, but others are doing very well. You will undoubtedly have your
\nfavorites, possibly based on relationships or a personal experience with one or
\nanother. It doesn\u2019t help that a social media publication puts out a list that disregards
\nmany of the hard working people and places that have done so much to bring the
\nHouston BBQ up to its current highly-respectable level.<\/span><\/div>\n
\n
\nIf you\u2019re new to Houston, you need a place to start if you\u2019re
\nlooking for good BBQ. I would never begin to characterize this list as \u201cessential\u201d;
\nthis is just a ‘map’ of sorts to get you started, and a way to get a good representative
\nsampling of the variety in BBQ that the greater Houston area has to offer. It is intentionally
\nnot numbered or ranked, and it is in no particular order.* <\/span><\/div>\n

\nI\u2019m often asked \u201cwhat\u2019s your favorite BBQ in Houston?\u201d, or \u201cwho
\nis the best?\u201d Honestly, I don\u2019t have an answer for either of those, and I doubt I ever will. I love the
\nvariety of the styles of BBQ we have, and the different methods of cooking
\nbeing utilized. I\u2019m often in the mood for a different taste of BBQ, and the
\nmultiple options I have to choose from please me to no end.<\/span><\/div>\n

\nYour Houston BBQ experience should be your own. If you don\u2019t
\nhave any idea where to begin, start with these and make it so.<\/span><\/div>\n
