{"id":20446,"date":"2025-01-09T23:59:53","date_gmt":"2025-01-09T23:59:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/ambient-music\/d-y-l-a-n\/"},"modified":"2025-01-09T23:59:53","modified_gmt":"2025-01-09T23:59:53","slug":"d-y-l-a-n","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=20446","title":{"rendered":"d y l a n"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>d y l a n | Folk\/Rock\/Art Rock | 76:53<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>&#8220;<\/strong>Oh, hear this Robert Zimmerman, I made a mix for you . . .<strong>&#8220;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>A surprise (and unplanned) mix that I never thought we&#8217;d make; mainly because in thirty years of mixing, I&#8217;ve <em>never<\/em> made a Bob Dylan mix or ever used one of his songs in a project (the only Dylan album I&#8217;ve ever bought was 1976&#8217;s <em>&#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Desire_(Bob_Dylan_album)\">Desire<\/a>&#8216;<\/em>, while in high school).<\/p>\n<p>Yet, this is a tribute to the musical &amp; poetic <em>genius<\/em> of one <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bob_Dylan\">Robert Zimmerman<\/a>, inspired over the past few weeks during several, random discussions about the movie &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt11563598\/\">A Complete Unknown<\/a>&#8216;. Tracks 1 &amp; 2 are positioned so as to draw attention to David Bowie&#8217;s <em>&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Song_for_Bob_Dylan\">sand &amp; glue<\/a>&#8220;<\/em> description of Dylan&#8217;s raw vocal style.<\/p>\n<p>On a personal note; as an old, <em>English Literature<\/em> major {Chaucer, Joyce, Shakespeare, O&#8217;Neil, Frost, Beckett, Browning, Ionesco, Woolf, Sartre, Chekhov . . .) delving into Dylan&#8217;s sublime lyricism was a genuine exercise in transformative, cultural reflection.
