DGFT Makes Changes to Import Policy for Synthetic Knitted Fabrics<\/strong><\/p>\n The recent official notice (Notification No. 05\/2025-26<\/strong>) of DGFT<\/strong>, issued on April 23, 2025<\/strong>. As per the notice, the Import Policy<\/strong> has been amended for the Synthetic Knitted Fabrics under ITC (HS) Codes 60019200, 60053600, 60053790, and 60053900.<\/strong><\/p>\n The amendments made say that these fabrics are constrained. They are free of value only if their value is 3.5 US dollars or above per kilogram.<\/strong> The Minimum Import Price (MIP<\/strong>) rule<\/strong> doesn\u2019t apply to imports made by Advance Authorisation holders<\/strong>, Export Oriented Units (EOUs), and SEZ units<\/strong> as long as the imported goods aren\u2019t sold in the regular Indian market called the Domestic Tariff Area or DTA.<\/strong><\/p>\n In the use of powers granted as per sections 3 and 5 of the Foreign Trade Act, 1992<\/strong>, along with specific parts of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP<\/strong>) 2023<\/strong>, the government has set a Minimum Import Price (MIP<\/strong>) on certain products. This decision is made through Notifications No. 77\/2023 (16.03.2024), No. 33\/2024-25 (01.10.2024), and No. 49\/2024-25 (04.01.2025).<\/strong> The government has now decided to apply this MIP rule on four specific types of Synthetic Knitted Fabrics<\/strong> (based on their codes) until March 31, 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n The Minimum Import Price (MIP<\/strong>) rule does not apply to imports made by Advance Authorisation holders, Export Oriented Units (EOUs),<\/strong> and units in the SEZ<\/strong>, as long as the imported goods are not sold in the regular Indian market (Domestic Tariff Area or DTA<\/strong>).<\/p>\n Additionally, imports made by Advance Authorisation holders, EOUs, and SEZ units<\/strong> will be exempt from the MIP rule.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Join StudyCafe Membership.
