{"id":203153,"date":"2025-04-24T17:54:24","date_gmt":"2025-04-24T17:54:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/aerospace\/pakistan-shuts-airspace-to-indian-carriers-as-crisis-deepens\/"},"modified":"2025-04-24T17:54:24","modified_gmt":"2025-04-24T17:54:24","slug":"pakistan-shuts-airspace-to-indian-carriers-as-crisis-deepens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=203153","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan shuts airspace to Indian carriers as crisis deepens"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Pakistan has closed its airspace to Indian airlines as the crisis between the neighboring countries deepens following the killing of 26 people in Indian-administered Kashmir on April 22, 2025.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On April 24, 2025, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aerotime.aero\/tag\/pakistan\" title=\"\">Pakistan<\/a> announced that its airspace would immediately close to \u201cIndian owned or Indian operated airlines\u201d leaving carriers such as Air India and IndiGo seeking alternative routes.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In a statement the Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced a number of steps he would take in response to \u201cIndian measures announced on 23 April 2025\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"article-leaderboard bn-1\"\/>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/india\/india-calls-all-party-meet-summons-top-pakistani-diplomat-after-kashmir-attack-2025-04-24\/\" title=\"\">Reuters<\/a>, these measures included India shutting the only land border to Pakistan and suspending a water-distribution treaty between the two countries.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Pakistan described the steps as \u201cunilateral, unjust, politically motivated, extremely irresponsible and devoid of legal merit,\u201d according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/liveblog\/2025\/4\/24\/kashmir-attack-live-india-summons-pakistani-envoy-hunts-pahalgam-gunmen\" title=\"\">Al Jazeera<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">IMPORTANT UPDATE: <\/p>\n<p>Due to the announced restriction of Pakistan airspace for all Indian airlines, it is expected that some Air India flights to or from North America, UK, Europe, and Middle East will take an alternative extended route. Air India regrets the inconvenience caused\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Air India (@airindia) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/airindia\/status\/1915390150168715319?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 24, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Among Pakistan\u2019s countermeasures were the suspension of \u201call visas under SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme (SVES) issued to Indian nationals\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"article-leaderboard bn-2\"\/>\n<p>Indian nationals already in the country under the scheme were \u201cinstructed to exit within 48 hours, less Sikh pilgrims\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In response to airspace closure, Air India advised customers that flights to or from North America, UK, Europe, and Middle East will take an alternative extended route.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAir India regrets the inconvenience caused to our passengers due to this unforeseen airspace closure that is outside our control.
