Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has unveiled a new dining experience to be rolled out across its fleet. Named the \u2018Flavors by SAS\u2019, the project is described by the carrier as \u201ca new food and beverage concept designed to offer passengers a more varied, globally inspired culinary offering.\u201d To be launched onto its network from October 1, 2025, \u2018Flavors by SAS\u2019 will debut alongside the airline\u2019s new European business class offering and later on, expanded to its airport lounges and the carrier\u2019s intercontinental flights from Stockholm, Oslo, and Copenhagen.<\/p>\n

According to an airline statement, \u2018Flavors by SAS\u2019 will build on the foundation of the \u2018New Nordic by SAS\u2019 concept, which was launched in 2017. \u201cFlavors by SAS represents the next step in the evolution of onboard dining. While New Nordic highlighted Scandinavian specialties with a modern twist, \u2018Flavors by SAS\u2019 brings a broader, more global perspective \u2013 delivering greater variety, enhanced presentation, and international culinary influences tailored to today\u2019s SAS travelers,\u201d says the statement. \u00a0<\/p>\n

The current food and beverage concept offered by SAS has been served for eight years, and as customer preferences evolve, so must SAS\u2019s in-flight dining,\u201d adds the airline. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The key features of the Flavors by SAS<\/a> concept include new menus\u00a0with an increased number of globally inspired culinary offerings and a tiered meal service, which aims to vary meal service levels to ensure that meal offerings align with flight length and conditions. This, states the airline, includes everything from a simpler basket service to full tray meals with hot and cold dishes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Additionally, a flexible dining approach will enable SAS to mix and match meal components to create \u201cunique tray combinations, ensuring variety and freshness,\u201d while rolling menu rotations\u00a0will mean that meals and menus change frequently, ensuring frequent travelers get to experience new options.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lastly, an elevated level of meal presentation in business class\u00a0cabins will see SAS replace single-use items with porcelain, including a unique double-walled porcelain mug, plus the use of glasses and stainless-steel utensils to elevate the onboard dining experience.\u00a0<\/p>\n
