{"id":200591,"date":"2025-04-23T12:17:06","date_gmt":"2025-04-23T12:17:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/animation\/nim-labs-launches-nim-7-0\/"},"modified":"2025-04-23T12:17:06","modified_gmt":"2025-04-23T12:17:06","slug":"nim-labs-launches-nim-7-0","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=200591","title":{"rendered":"NIM Labs launches NIM 7.0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"NIM - Schedule Overview\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Z7YDQKbDiNE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>NIM Labs has rolled out <a href=\"https:\/\/nim-labs.com\/docs\/NIM\/html\/whats_new_7-0.html\" target=\"_blank\">NIM 7.0<\/a>, the latest version of its <a href=\"http:\/\/nim-labs.com\/features\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">studio management platform<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The update overhauls NIM\u2019s project scheduling system, adds a new conflict detection system, and new options for tracking resource usage within a studio.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A locally installed alternative to cloud-based production-management systems<\/strong><br \/>Developed in house at LA post facility <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ntropic.com\/#\/what-we-create\/featured\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ntropic<\/a>, NIM is intended to provide a locally installed alternative to cloud-based production management platforms.<\/p>\n<p>Although users view and manage jobs within a standard web browser, the system is supplied as a virtual machine that can be installed behind a company\u2019s firewall.<\/p>\n<p>It provides a standard range of scheduling, production tracking and shot review features, plus more specialised features for timecard management, bidding jobs, and financial projections.<\/p>\n<p>Users include VFX houses Digital Domain and concept design studio Aaron Sims Creative.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NIM 7.0: reworked scheduling system<\/strong><br \/>NIM 7.0 reworks the platform\u2019s scheduling tools, reworking the scheduling interface to make it more intuitive, and introducing a new Jobs view showing events associated with jobs.<\/p>\n<p>Events can now be linked to multiple resources or users, with changes made to one event being automatically propagated to all of the linked instances.<\/p>\n<p>Workflow improvements include the option to create \u2018bundles\u2019 \u2013 preset combinations of users and resources \u2013 and to drag and drop users, resources and bundles directly onto the schedule.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other new features<\/strong><br \/>The update also introduces a new conflict detection system, which alerts users to pre-defined \u2018conflict scenarios\u2019 \u2013 for example, artists being double-booked, or resources reaching limits.<\/p>\n<p>NIM 7.0 also provides more detailed metrics for user and resource utilization, which can be displayed visually in a range of color-coded charts.<\/p>\n<p>Other changes include the option to import bid line items from external spreadsheets, and a range of workflow improvements. You can find a full list of changes via the links below.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pricing and system requirements<\/strong><br \/>NIM 7.0 is available now. Subscription costs $40\/month\/user or $360\/year\/user.<\/p>\n<p>NIM is delivered as a preconfigured Ubuntu Server virtual appliance.
