The S&amp;P 500 jumped 2.51% to 5,287.76, while the Nasdaq Composite surged 2.71% to 16,300.42 during Tuesday&#8217;s session.<\/p>\n<p>Investors are awaiting earnings results from <strong>Philip Morris International Inc.<\/strong> <span class=\"ticker\" data-ticker=\"PM\" data-exchange=\"NYSE\" style=\"display: inline-block;\">PM<\/span>, <strong>GE Vernova Inc.<\/strong> <span class=\"ticker\" data-ticker=\"GEV\" data-exchange=\"NYSE\" style=\"display: inline-block;\">GEV<\/span>, and <strong>AT&amp;T Inc. <\/strong><span class=\"ticker\" data-ticker=\"T\" data-exchange=\"NYSE\" style=\"display: inline-block;\">T<\/span> today.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is CNN Business Fear &amp; Greed Index?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At a current reading of 24.4, the index remained in the \u201cExtreme Fear\u201d zone on Tuesday, versus a prior reading of 21.6.<\/p>\n<p>The Fear &amp; Greed Index is a measure of the current market sentiment. It is based\u00a0on the premise that higher fear exerts pressure on stock prices, while higher greed has the opposite effect. The index is calculated based on seven equal-weighted indicators.
