Talisker has unveiled a new limited edition single malt with an environmental mission. The Wild Blue, presented in 100% recycled glass bottles, represents a deepening partnership between the Isle of Skye distiller and the Blue Marine Foundation to help restore coastal habitats.<\/span><\/p>\n

Each promotional bottle distributed worldwide represents a \u00a33 donation to Blue Marine. Talisker has committed a total donation of \u00a3112,608, regardless of sales figures, which will fund projects restoring vital coastal habitats such as oyster reefs in the Solent off England\u2019s south coast.<\/span><\/p>\n

Innovative Coastal Cask Finishing<\/span><\/h2>\n

For the first time in Talisker\u2019s history, the whisky makers selected red wine casks from South Africa\u2019s coastal regions to finish this expression. The 16-month maturation process in these carefully chosen casks adds distinctive layers of oakiness and depth to the spirit.<\/span><\/p>\n

The resulting liquid offers Talisker\u2019s signature maritime smoke complemented by deep fruit flavors. This combination creates a sweetly smoky character reminiscent of a bonfire on a wild, windswept beach.<\/span><\/p>\n

Environmental Commitment Through Packaging and Events<\/span><\/h2>\n

The Wild Blue release builds upon Talisker\u2019s earlier Wilder Seas edition, continuing the use of 100% recycled glass bottles and carton-free packaging. The new release also features an elegant ceramic design as an alternative to traditional paper labeling.<\/span><\/p>\n

To celebrate the launch, Talisker will host The Wild Blue Challenge on Friday, June 6, ahead of World Ocean Day. The event will feature celebrities and swimming enthusiasts participating in a timed ocean swim, with Talisker donating an additional \u00a3150 to Blue Marine for every kilometer completed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Made by the sea on Scotland\u2019s rugged Isle of Skye, Talisker has maintained a strong connection with the ocean throughout its history. This latest expression deepens that relationship by supporting projects focused on improving water quality and restoring biodiversity through the revival of native oyster beds and seagrass meadows.<\/span><\/p>\n

Appearance: Burnished gold with highlights of polished brass.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nose: Vibrant in nature, with classic pepper spice. A particularly smoky expression of Talisker, <\/span>complemented by the expected maritime notes of drying seaweed and sea-spray drenched <\/span>rocks. Brilliantly balancing the coastal minerality are some rich fruit notes with hints of red wine <\/span>and sundried cranberries.<\/span><\/p>\n

Body: Medium to full.<\/span><\/p>\n

Palate: A pleasant, smooth texture leads into a sweet, intense taste in which fruity undertones of <\/span>berries and orchard fruits add weight and intrigue throughout, with a real shake of salt mid-palate. The saltiness, smokiness and sweetness merge beautifully as they spread over the <\/span>tongue, building to a classic chilli pepper \u2018catch\u2019. If water is added, a drop highlights the <\/span>wine-like fruity sweetness and spreads the pepper across the whole palate.<\/span><\/p>\n

Finish: Long, smooth and sweetly smoky, with a last memory of the peat fire on a wild beach.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
