In August 2024, IndiGo announced that the airline would launch a new tailor-made \u201cbusiness product\u201d<\/a> on India\u2019s busiest business routes. On Diwali 2024, the first A321neo equipped with the business class product arrived in India.\n<\/p>\n

IndiGo\u2019s new Business Product: IndiGoStretch<\/h3>\n

While earlier on, IndiGo used to sell its extra legroom seats on the first row and emergency exit on its A320-family aircraft, called IndiGo XL, the airline now has a proper business-class seat on some of its A321neo aircraft.<\/p>\n

The airline has selected the Recaro R5 as its new offering. IndiGo intends to offer the coupe-style, 2\u00d72 seats on 45 aircraft in the coming months, with the first one already inducted into service in November 2024.<\/p>\n

      IndiGo has been operating an A321neo aircraft line-fit with the new IndiGo Stretch product since November 14, 2024, and it is now available on all 19 flights in both directions throughout the day as of January 12, 2025.<\/p>\n

      IndiGo then launched the IndiGo Stretch-equipped product between Delhi and Bengaluru and return as of January 10, 2025. As of date, all 15 Delhi\u2014Bengaluru and v.v frequencies offer Stretch.<\/p>\n

      IndiGo launched Stretch between Delhi and Chennai on March 26, 2025, and as of the writing of this article, it is being offered on all ten frequencies between the two cities.<\/p>\n

      IndiGo has introduced Stretch on the Delhi\u2014Hyderabad route effective April 15, 2025. The airline is offering it on four flights a day, and will add another three flights a day next week. Making it seven out of twelve frequencies. The last 5 frequencies will get the stretch product in May 2025.<\/p>\n

      IndiGo Stretch to launch on Bengaluru \u2013 Mumbai Route on May 1, 2025<\/h3>\n

      IndiGo is set to introduce Stretch on flights operating between Bengaluru and Mumbai, starting May 1, 2025. Some more flights will move to Stretch-equipped equipment on May 2 and May 7, with all the flights on the route being covered by May 30, 2025. Flights in the Stretch Cabin are going for INR 17,000.<\/p>\n

      \u00a0Bottomline<\/h3>\n

      IndiGo\u2019s strategy with IndiGo Stretch is becoming more apparent. The airline believes there is room for an in-between product without the frills of a full-service carrier, such as lounges and hot meals when priced competitively. They are going with the real-estate pricing on the plane concept, where they will charge 3-3.5x in the initial days to establish the product in the mind space of the business travellers.<\/p>\n

      After carpeting all the Delhi\u2014Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai routes in April 2025 the airline will focus on the Bangalore \u2013 Chennai route in May 2025 and complete the launch of Stretch on this route.<\/p>\n
