Security searcher and jailbreak developer Lars Fröder (@opa334dev) released an updated version of the Dopamine jailbreak tool on Saturday, officially bringing it up to version 2.4.4.

"Dopamine

The updated build, which is currently available both on the project’s GitHub page as a manual download, or from the Dopamine jailbreak app on existing jailbroken devices as an in-app over-the-air download, appears to include the following changes:

– Improve fix from 2.4.3 to also work in processes for which tweak injection has been disabled
– Fix in-app respring button not working when jailbreak is hidden
– Improve error message that appears when libgrabkernel2 does not work
– Add password authentication for when changing mobile password (Contributed by @khcrysalis)
– Add compiler optimizations to some jailbreak components
– Update ChOma and XPF

Update: Version 2.4.5 of the Dopamine jailbreak was also just released to fix a regression in the v2.4.4 update. The change log is as follows:

– Revert compiler optimizations for libjailbreak since this broke 15.x arm64 support [2.4.4 regression]

This is, by and large, a bug fix update that improves the jailbreak’s functionality when tweak injection is disabled, resolves an issue where the respring button didn’t always appear in the Dopamine app, and improves some error message reporting.

Other changes in this update include password authentication when changing the device’s mobile password, optimizing the compiler, and updating ChOma and XPF.

As this update contains bug fixes, it’s recommended to all jailbreakers, whether they’re already using the Dopamine jailbreak tool, or they’re thinking about using Dopamine for the first time. Using the latest release when jailbreaking ensures the best possible user experience because it contains the highest number of bug fixes to ensure system stability, which prevents boot loops and crashes.

Those who are already using the Dopamine jailbreak will find a prompt to update in the Dopamine jailbreak app as shown below, while those who aren’t already using the Dopamine jailbreak can head over to the project’s GitHub page to acquire the latest release at the time of this writing.

If you’re thinking about using the Dopamine jailbreak, then it would be handy to know that it supports the following device and firmware combinations:
