10 Steps Toward Emotional Healing After Divorce<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re struggling with emotional healing after divorce, you are not alone. Often that paralysis is largely due to the trauma resulting from a high conflict and expensive legal brawl in divorce Court. I have seen the harm that the \u201cwin at all cost\u201d attitude causes.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The first of this year, I formed MuesLaw to try to assist folks wanting to end their marriage to first consider the use of a more holistic collaborative divorce process before jumping into divorce litigation. I have learned that using this approach can be incredibly beneficial to help individuals transition to the next chapter in their lives in a much more healthy manner.<\/p>\n

My philosophy about utilizing a more peaceful and mindful marriage dissolution process is not a new one. Below is a blog article that I first wrote 16 years ago!<\/p>\n

Emotional Healing After Divorce? Let Easter be your Resurrection of Life<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\"A<\/a>Holidays for those that have become divorced can be very difficult times. Easter<\/u> is no exception. Have old memories of good times and happiness morphed into feelings of anger, regret and pain? We all know that Easter, in its most religious meaning, is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Some European countries stop the daily ringing of the church bell on Thursday in memoriam of the death of Jesus Christ. The daily tradition begins once again the early morning hours of Easter Sunday in commemoration of the resurrection. Devout Christians in America celebrate Easter in the spiritual manner, as do devout Christians all over the world.<\/p>\n

But regardless of your religious beliefs, from a practical standpoint, Easter is about forgiveness, life, and in a sense, everlasting life. For those of us, however, who think about Easter in terms of the Easter Bunny, coloring eggs, surviving sugar-crazed kids, or spring break, Easter can still be a time of reflection and resurrection. If you\u2019re feeling stuck in a negative emotional \u201ctime warp,\u201d it may be a sign you need to focus on your emotional healing after divorce. Isn\u2019t it time to commit to making a positive change? Or, in a sense, make a resurrection, or a return to life?<\/p>\n

Easter Resurrection? Steps Toward Emotional Healing After Divorce<\/strong>:<\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. See a psychologist\/therapist to help you with divorce<\/em> transition issues;<\/li>\n
  2. Join a divorce support group in your area;<\/li>\n
  3. Become involved with a church;<\/li>\n
  4. Join a volunteer organization to help others;<\/li>\n
  5. Perhaps adopt a pet to love and nurture;<\/li>\n
  6. Try to smile, laugh and be more pleasant;<\/li>\n
  7. Simply be kinder to others and less self-absorbed;<\/li>\n
  8. Do something nice for yourself;<\/li>\n
  9. Risk sharing your feelings with others; and<\/li>\n
  10. Commit to a new attitude and starting a new chapter in your life.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    While these suggestions aren\u2019t novel or intended for everyone, the objective of this article is to encourage some self-reflection and, hopefully, motivate people paralyzed after divorce<\/u><\/a> to make progress towards personal happiness. It all comes down to making a commitment to yourself<\/strong> to move forward and adopt a new mindset. Some psychologists describe this as adjusting the way that you feel by changing the way that you think. Isn\u2019t it about time? May this Easter season mark the beginning of your emotional healing after divorce \u2013 a true emotional rebirth.<\/p>\n
