I have had some great colleagues, worked with some brilliant people and, in my earlier career, been involved with some terrific clients.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Martin van Roekel, the firm\u2019s Managing Partner in the Netherlands, will officially be the new International Chief on October 1. <\/p>\n<p>Newman says \u201cit is time for a change,\u201d but he \u201c[doesn\u2019t] know what I will do but after 33 years in this business, I am looking forward to seeking new opportunities outside the accounting profession.\u201d He is promising to keep blogging through September, so hopefully he\u2019s still working on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goingconcern.com\/2011\/05\/doing-it-wrong-twitter-case-study-the-sensitive-ceo\/\">his delicate sensibilities<\/a>.  <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.e-bdo.com\/intranet\/global\/JNblog1.nsf\/dx\/Moving-on\">Moving On<\/a> [CEO Insights]<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Related: he\u2019s also stepping down as BDO International\u2019s CEO on September 30: [After] 33 years in total with BDO UK and BDO International, I will be stepping down on 30 September 2011.
