{"id":180664,"date":"2025-04-10T16:16:40","date_gmt":"2025-04-10T16:16:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/business\/marketing\/renee-rapp-turns-regina-george-into-an-empress-for-paramount\/"},"modified":"2025-04-10T16:16:40","modified_gmt":"2025-04-10T16:16:40","slug":"renee-rapp-turns-regina-george-into-an-empress-for-paramount","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=180664","title":{"rendered":"Rene\u00e9 Rapp Turns Regina George Into an Empress for Paramount+"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Can you imagine a world where Mean Girls meets Gladiator?<\/p>\n<p>Well, you no longer have to dream.<\/p>\n<p>Today, Paramount+ debuted a new spot, the second one in the streamer\u2019s Find Your Mountain multi-platform marketing campaign, which was launched to highlight the platform\u2019s film offerings.<\/p>\n<p>The ad spoofs two of Paramount+\u2019s biggest movies over the past year: 2024\u2019s Mean Girls and Gladiator II.<\/p>\n<p>In the 60-second spot, created by Droga5 and directed by Traktor, Rene\u00e9 Rapp reprises her role as Regina George from the 2024 Mean Girls film, but this time she plays the empress who decides the gladiators\u2019 fate.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Daniel Franzese from the original 2004 Mean Girls film makes a cameo as his character Damian shouting the classic \u201cShe doesn\u2019t even go here!\u201d line.<\/p>\n<p>Rapp told ADWEEK that working on the campaign was \u201cunhinged,\u201d but in \u201cthe best way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think anyone\u2019s ever thought, \u2018What if Regina George met a Roman gladiator?,\u2019 but now that it exists, I kind of love it,\u201d Rapp said. \u201cMean Girls already has drama, and Gladiator just adds swords and blood. It\u2019s a weirdly perfect combo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The first ad that launched in the Find Your Campaign debuted in March and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=FtD0oKe7jZA\" target=\"_blank\">merged together<\/a> the worlds of Yellowjackets and Survivor. Paramount+ plans to roll out more star-studded spots in the coming months. The new creative direction offers a deeper, more personal approach, according to the company.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe wanted to highlight our movie offering on Paramount+ in an unexpected way by bringing together these two beloved fan-favorite franchises in a blockbuster showdown,\u201d said Terry Minogue, evp of creative marketing at Paramount\u00a0Streaming. \u201cParamount+ has something for every movie lover \u2014 from iconic classics to modern hits. The first Gladiator film ranked as the first library movie during the same time period. <\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<p>The 2024 Mean Girls remake starring Rapp ranked No. 1 in active subscriber households during the first quarter of 2024. Both Mean Girl titles, including the 2004 original starring Rachel McAdams as Regina George, ranked in the top 10 for active subscriber households among all movies in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>As for Rapp, she said one of the reasons she feels like the character of Regina and the Mean Girls world as a whole resonates so closely with consumers of all ages is because of how relatable Regina is despite being so terrifying and dramatic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlaying Regina is like free therapy,\u201d Rapp said. \u201cAnd the Mean Girls universe? A goldmine.
