Mazari\u2019s analysis disputes the findings of the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner and casts doubt on the integrity of the original investigation by the Parma Police Department, reigniting calls for a full-scale reinvestigation.<\/p>\n<p>Pasela, a whistleblower and key witness in the second trial of exonerated defendant Tony Viola, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in 2011. Viola was later acquitted using evidence Pasela helped uncover\u2014evidence that directly implicated former federal prosecutor Mark Bennett and Senior Assistant Ohio Attorney General Dan Kasaris in prosecutorial misconduct. Now, over a decade later, new forensic scrutiny is exposing what many say is a deliberate cover-up.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Findings From Dr. Mazari\u2019s Review: \u201cThis Was Not an Overdose\u201d<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Dr. Mazari\u2014who has performed over 1,500 autopsies and holds both M.D. and Ph.D. degrees\u2014states unequivocally in his report: \u201cI would strongly suggest revision and reinvestigation.\u201d Citing the lack of basic evidence to support claims of voluntary alcohol ingestion, Mazari wrote that \u201cno glasses were found at the scene to support oral consumption,\u201d despite the presence of vodka bottles. More disturbingly, he flagged signs that \u201cthe scene was altered prior to Ms. Pasela being discovered.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Among Mazari\u2019s most explosive findings:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The victim\u2019s stomach contained undigested food, suggesting she had eaten prior to death\u2014an odd detail given her reported blood alcohol level of nearly 0.60, a level typically causing immediate incapacitation or death.<\/li>\n<li>Two coffee mugs were found on the dining table, indicating another person may have been present the night of her death.<\/li>\n<li>A call was made from one of her phones at <strong>4:39 a.m.<\/strong>, well after her estimated time of death, yet this lead was never pursued.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mazari\u2019s conclusion? The death should be reclassified from \u201cAccidental\u201d to \u201cUndetermined\u201d until a thorough police investigation can rule out foul play.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A Pattern of Neglect and Obstruction<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The original investigation was riddled with procedural failures. According to records obtained by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff\u2019s Office:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Three cell phones<\/strong> found in the apartment\u2014including one active long after the presumed time of death\u2014were never collected.<\/li>\n<li>No <strong>forensic evidence<\/strong> was gathered.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>crime scene<\/strong> was not secured or photographed properly.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>apartment\u2019s heat<\/strong> was cranked up, likely to accelerate decomposition, yet a window was left wide open\u2014suggesting someone exited the apartment after altering the environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In an even more shocking revelation, authorities <strong>called a mortuary service instead of an ambulance<\/strong>, indicating a presumption of death before an official pronouncement\u2014an uncommon and suspicious practice.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Whistleblower Who Knew Too Much<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Pasela wasn\u2019t just a witness. She was a digital archive.<\/p>\n<p>She possessed <strong>hard drives containing evidence<\/strong> in hundreds of cases. She had <strong>exposed an affair<\/strong> between Prosecutor Dan Kasaris and a recurring state witness, Kathryn Clover\u2014information corroborated by Facebook messages from Kasaris\u2019 own wife. Kasaris reportedly <strong>destroyed his computer<\/strong> the day Dawn died.<\/p>\n<p>Now-disgraced prosecutor Mark Bennett\u2014recently fired and suspended for misconduct\u2014has <strong>admitted that Dawn was instructed to make illegal recordings<\/strong>, contradicting his previous testimony under oath. These revelations provide compelling motive for silencing her permanently.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Calls for Accountability and Justice Grow Louder<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Despite mounting evidence and specific directives from the County Sheriff, the <strong>Parma Police Department continues to stonewall<\/strong>, refusing to reopen the case or transfer it to a more qualified agency. Attorney Kim Corral and Dawn\u2019s family have made Dr. Mazari\u2019s report public in hopes of reigniting public pressure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no way this case should have been closed,\u201d Corral said. \u201cWe now have a professional, third-party forensic pathologist saying the official explanation doesn\u2019t make sense.
