The Stag was definitely the local aspirational car in my area.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut I fell in love with the 280SL. I can\u2019t remember when but I had a desire from the early 90s. I just had this thing of: \u2018Oh man if I can ever get that car\u2019. I was just one dimensional about it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s the car, if I could ever have one car, that\u2019s the car. At that time I was driving a red (Vauxhall) Astra, it was my first company car, and then a Jeep Cherokee which was great in a straight line, but couldn\u2019t take a corner.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd then I fell in love with this car (280SL) and the first person I saw driving one was <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jamiroquai\">Jamiroquai<\/a>. I was working in Holland Park. I saw him driving a white, I think it was a cream or white one.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe got his deal, he was Jay Kay, Jamirquai, and the crux of it is, I played his record first on national radio on Kiss FM before he was signed, \u2018When you gonna learn\u2019. So I was his number one champion.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen I see him cruising in this car. I remember thinking: \u2018He\u2019s got my car!\u2019 I was going mad. \u2018He\u2019s got my car!\u2019. Honestly I was losing it inside my head.
