Or maybe wicked people would suddenly feel compelled to give their stuff away to Christians.<\/p>\n<p>Something about that always felt a little \u201coff\u201d to me, but I didn\u2019t fully understand what this Biblical wealth transfer was all about, so who was I to criticize?<\/p>\n<p>And, if I am being honest, sure I would love to win the wealth transfer lottery too \u2013 so why not!<\/p>\n<p>But then I encountered Author Craig Hill\u2019s perspective, which was a completely different way of understanding Pro 13:22 and this transfer from the wicked to the righteous.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Revelation That Changed Everything<\/h2>\n<p>In chapter 5 of Craig\u2019s book <em><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3E4cKTs\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3E4cKTs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The 5 Wealth Secrets<\/a><\/em> he uses an allegory to provide an explanation of this often misunderstood concept.<\/p>\n<p>Hill began his study searching Scripture for biblical definitions of \u201crighteous\u201d and \u201cwicked\u201d, specifically relating to money.<\/p>\n<p>First he found Psalm 37:21:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe wicked borrows and does not pay back, but the righteous is gracious and gives.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>And the Hebrew word for \u2018righteous\u2019 in this verse is the same word that is used in Proverbs 13:22:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cthe wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>And this single verse completely reframes the wealth transfer equation:<\/p>\n<p>Because now you could interpret <a href=\"https:\/\/seedtime.com\/proverbs-about-money\/\">Proverbs<\/a> 13:22 like this:<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The wealth of (the wicked) <em>those who borrow and don\u2019t repay<\/em> will be transferred to (the righteous) <em>those who are gracious and give<\/em>.<\/h3>\n<p>Here\u2019s what\u2019s fascinating: in this context, \u201crighteous\u201d and \u201cwicked\u201d aren\u2019t about spiritual standing or salvation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>They\u2019re specifically describing financial behavior.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So it appears that this isn\u2019t about believers vs. non-believers.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s about:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Those who borrow excessively vs. those who maintain margin<\/li>\n<li>Those who can\u2019t repay vs. <a href=\"https:\/\/seedtime.com\/givers-from-history\/\">those who can be generous<\/a><\/li>\n<li>The financially stretched vs. the financially prudent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Now let\u2019s look at \u2018meekness\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>Matthew 5:5 tells us:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cblessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>People often confuse meekness and humility, but they are not the same thing. Craig describes it like this:<\/p>\n<p>\u201chumility is an attitude, while meekness is an action.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He goes on to say:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI further learned, from the Vines Bible Dictionary, that meekness is a fruit of power. That dictionary states that Jesus was meek, not because He was impotent, but rather because He voluntarily limited Himself to use only a small percentage of available power.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Therefore you could define meekness like this:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cmeekness is voluntarily limiting the use of available resources or power. A meek person is one who has great power or resources, but voluntarily limits oneself to use only a percentage of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And if that\u2019s true then\u2026<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Meekness and debt are opposites<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/seedtime.com\/what-the-bible-says-about-debt\/\">Debt is using MORE than the resources you have available to you<\/a> and meekness is intentionally using LESS than you have available.<\/p>\n<p>Hill points out that during the Great Depression, people who were deep in debt lost their homes, farms, and businesses when they couldn\u2019t make payments.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, those who had maintained financial margin \u2013 as we just defined as \u201cthe meek\u201d \u2013 were able to purchase these same assets at bank auctions for huge discounts.<\/p>\n<p>So we can see how Matthew 5:5 played out:<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The meek literally inherited the earth in this wealth transfer.<\/h3>\n<p>The meek (those who maintain margin and can be generous) end up inheriting assets during economic resets.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, those who are stretched thin with debt end up losing their assets.<\/p>\n<p>And this same pattern has repeated throughout history:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>During economic crises in Europe over many centuries<\/li>\n<li>In America during the mid-1800s<\/li>\n<li>Throughout the Great Depression<\/li>\n<li>And many believe we\u2019re approaching another such reset<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What This Means For Us<\/h2>\n<p>This revelation fundamentally changed how I view financial preparation.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not about hoarding or taking advantage of others\u2019 misfortune.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, it\u2019s about:<\/p>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Maintaining enough margin to be generous in all seasons<\/li>\n<li>Avoiding the trap of excessive debt<\/li>\n<li>Being positioned to help others during difficult times<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>This explanation argues that this wealth transfer isn\u2019t about spiritual status \u2013 it\u2019s about financial positioning.<\/p>\n<p>And <a href=\"https:\/\/seedtime.com\/bible-and-money\/\">the biblical pattern<\/a> shows that those who maintain margin while practicing generosity aren\u2019t just doing what\u2019s morally right \u2013 they\u2019re doing what\u2019s economically wise.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">This Should Change How We Handle Money Today<\/h2>\n<p>When I discovered this perspective, it transformed how I view <a href=\"https:\/\/seedtime.com\/stewardship-with-marcus-hall\/\">financial stewardship<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not just about having money or not having money \u2013 it\u2019s about positioning ourselves to be a blessing, especially during difficult times.<\/p>\n<p>Every generation faces its economic challenges.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The question isn\u2019t <em>if<\/em> these times will come, but <em>how<\/em> we\u2019ll be positioned when they do.<\/h3>\n<p>Will we be:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Stretched thin with debt or maintaining margin?<\/li>\n<li>Forced to sell assets or able to help others?<\/li>\n<li>Part of the problem or part of God\u2019s solution?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">God Doesn\u2019t Want Us Waiting For A Financial Miracle \u2013 He Wants Us Preparing To Be One<\/h2>\n<p>This understanding of Proverbs 13:22 isn\u2019t about passively waiting for wealth to drop in our laps.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s about actively positioning ourselves to be channels of <a href=\"https:\/\/seedtime.com\/god-will-provide-bible-verses-about-provision\/\">God\u2019s provision<\/a> when others need it most.<\/p>\n<p>Think about Joseph in Egypt.<\/p>\n<p>God didn\u2019t just supernaturally transfer Pharaoh\u2019s wealth to him.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, He gave Joseph wisdom to prepare during seven years of plenty so he could help during seven years of famine.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Real Wealth Transfer Might Be Simpler Than We Thought<\/h2>\n<p>Maybe the wealth transfer isn\u2019t some mysterious future event.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe it\u2019s just the natural outcome of following God\u2019s financial principles:<\/p>\n<p>What if the greatest opportunity isn\u2019t in waiting for a transfer of wealth, but in positioning ourselves to be part of God\u2019s solution when others need it most?<\/p>\n<p>Your friend and coach,<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img
