Among the inaugural releases is the 11-year-old Society No. 10.284: \u2018Ginger Rollmop Sushi Phantasmagoria\u2019 (\u00a380), a peated expression offering notes of treacle scones, pickled sushi ginger, and hot smoked salmon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This particular whisky began its journey in two bourbon hogsheads before being transferred at five years old &#8211; one portion to a first-fill American oak PX hogshead and the other to a second-fill oloroso hogshead. The contents were then married together prior to bottling.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Other offerings in the initial release include the 15-year-old \u2018Moroccan Pastilla Anyone?\u2019 (\u00a380), a spicy &amp; sweet bottling matured in New American HTMC and first-fill Spanish oak oloroso casks. The 16-year-old \u2018The Fruit Merchant\u2019 (\u00a390) combines New American oak HTMC hogshead and first-fill American oak oloroso hogshead casks to create a sweet, fruity &amp; mellow profile.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Rounding out the \u2018Two to One\u2019 collection are \u2018Interdimensional Patisserie\u2019 (\u00a385), &#8216;Strawberry Sumac Scones\u2019 (\u00a380), and the tropical-forward \u2018I&#8217;ve Got a Lovely Bunch of Coconuts\u2019 (\u00a375), which unusually combines whisky from a refill Trinidadian rum barrel with that from a New American oak HTMC barrel.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Creative Exploration<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;The concept is straightforward: Two to One means taking two casks of single malt from the same distillery and seeing how they can fit together to create an ultra small-batch bottling,&#8221; explained Euan Campbell, Head of Whisky Creation at SMWS. &#8220;The whiskies could have different ages and have undergone maturation in different wood types before being married and bottled at natural cask strength.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Campbell added: &#8220;This is a new adventure for us. The whisky in each bottle has a different journey through a range of cask types to create something unique and delicious.
