Kennedy International Airport, but will their business model stand the test of time?\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Britain\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/travel\/news-and-advice\/global-airlines-transatlantic-flights-james-asquith-b2724747.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>The Independent<\/em> <\/a>reports the airline is ready for operations, despite not yet having their own Air Operator Certificate or Operating License from the nation\u2019s authorties.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>\u201cWe\u2019ve Got A Lot of People That Want to Fly\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>With two Airbus A380s in their fleet, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalairlines.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Global Airlines<\/a> describes their vision as travel without \u201clong security queues, late flights, lost luggage, inedible food and constant poor customer service.\u201d Instead, they want to make travel easy by using the world\u2019s biggest commercial aircraft to transport passengers across the Atlantic Ocean.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Despite having an aircraft in their livery, Global\u2019s first flight \u2013 scheduled for May 15, 2025 \u2013 will be operated by Portuguese company Hi Fly with ticketing handled by TravelOpedia LTD. The airline is selling return tickets to a small group of travelers starting at around $902 for economy class, with upgrades available for business and first class cabins.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnboard the cabins have all been overhauled to give a brand-new look and feel,\u201d the airline told <em>The Independent.<\/em> \u201cThe catering team has been busy preparing a new menu and there will be special \u2018limited edition\u2019 amenity kits in all cabins, for all passengers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The carrier\u2019s founder and chief executive James Asquith says he is ready to present the travel community with something original in the space.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u201cNo one\u2019s done this before,\u201d Asquith told <em>The Independent.<\/em> \u201cWhen\u2019s the last time a new airline\u2019s come to the market that said. \u2018We\u2019re leading with a product\u2019? No one\u2019s started an airline by owning their aircraft and having the largest aircraft in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>With no additional flights scheduled beyond the inaugural service, it is hard to say how the new carrier will fare. Airline leaders are optimistic that they can pull off a better quality service compared to their competitors, including U.K. flag carrier British Airways.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve got a lot of people that want to fly on what we\u2019re doing at Global,\u201d Asquith told <em>The Independent. <\/em>\u201cPeople can be critical, but you\u2019ve got a good bunch of people trying to do something for good reasons here, and we\u2019re almost there.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A new startup airline wants to change how passengers fly across the Northern Atlantic using the world\u2019s largest commercial aircraft \u2013 but will it last?
