\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tOpens with some creamy sweetness, with honey and vanilla. The sweetness gives way to soft, slightly earthy peat. There\u2019s a little salt and pepper spice.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tMedium, light smoke lingers with lemon juice. Some sea salt and a little brine.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tA great introduction to the Port Askaig range, and lighter peated whisky. There\u2019s some smoke but it doesn\u2019t overwhelm other flavours. On the palate there\u2019s a good balance between sweetness and peat \/ smoke. <\/p>\nAlthough Elixir Distillers does not disclose which Islay distillery supplied the malt for the Port Askaig 8 Year Old expression, I\u2019d personally guess its Caol Ila.
