Taylor Farms reiterated that point this week, noting it will immediately begin transitioning the FarmWise business to ensure continuity of service for FarmWise\u2019s Vulcan customers.<\/p>\n<p>So far as ag robotics adoption goes, <a href=\"https:\/\/agfundernews.com\/us-agrifoodtech-funding-up-14-driven-by-investment-in-ai\">weeding<\/a> innovations are among the most popular new technologies. Large-scale operations like Taylor Farms now constantly battle herbicide resistance and labor shortages in addition to costs on the farm rising more generally.<\/p>\n<p>Weeds decrease crop yields in the US by an annual average cost of $33 billion, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ars.usda.gov\/research\/publications\/publication\/\">according to the United States Department of Agriculture<\/a>. Meanwhile, consumer preferences are increasingly in favor of approaches that reduce or avoid chemicals.<\/p>\n<p>FarmWise\u2019s Vulcan technology uses AI, computer vision and robotics to identify and remove weeds.<\/p>\n<p>[Quote about what Taylor saw in them]<\/p>\n<p>Taylor Farms\u2014one of the largest ready-to-eat salad producers in North America, <a href=\"https:\/\/agfundernews.com\/farmwise-hauls-in-45m-series-b-funding-from-taylor-farms-others\">previously invested in FarmWise<\/a> via the latter\u2019s $45 million Series B round in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Leifer emphasized his confidence in FarmWise\u2019s technology over the long term: \u201cThe technology works.
