Today\u2019s video features a Manhattan Cocktail variation courtesy of our friends at Punch Media<\/a> and Tamworth Distilling<\/a>. The Chocorua and Sierra Fig Manhattan is its name and it\u2019s made Tamworth\u2019s Chocorua Rye Whiskey and their Art in the Age Sierra Fig Cordial which we reviewed earlier this year.<\/p>\n Here\u2019s a bit more information about each spirit along with the cocktail recipe:<\/p>\n Chocorua Straight Rye<\/strong><\/a>: Chocorua is a straight rye whiskey, made from a single crop of organic rye grain from Maine distilled in the sour mash style. The result is a cherry-like nose and depth accented by the rye\u2019s peppery kick.<\/em><\/p>\n Smooth, hay-like notes open up as they warm on the tongue, joined by fruity sweetness reminiscent of apple and pear. This is an excellent sipping whiskey, with only a mild heat, light bitterness, and medium length finish. From beginning to end, Chocorua embodies our scratch made ethos: local, house-milled grain, pure water, and herbs and botanicals from the woods as well as our garden.<\/em><\/p>\n AITA Sierra Fig Cordial<\/strong><\/a>: Our Sierra Fig Cordial captures the true flavor of a whole fig. The Sierra variety was picked for its balance of light molasses notes and bright, wildflower honey aromatics, and was sourced from a family farm in Madeira County, CA. The flavors were double-extracted into Tamworth\u2019s house-made neutral spirit, and finished with rhubarb root and damiana leaf to amplify bitter cocoa and nut flavors as well as floral and fruit aromas, creating the impression of a full, intact fig.<\/em><\/p>\n Chocorua and Sierra Fig Manhattan Recipe<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n 2 oz. Chocorua Straight Rye<\/em> Method<\/strong>: Add ingredients to a mixing glass. Stir and strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with Luxardo Cherry.<\/em><\/p>\n We don\u2019t know about you, but we immediately started salivating when we read this recipe, mostly because it\u2019s basically wish fulfillment because we figured the Sierra Fig Cordial<\/a> would kick all kinds of ass in a Manhattan.
