I never knew how much I depended upon my Pryex baking dish until I
\nhad to bob and weave after the dish leapt from the cupboard to attack
\nme and it smashed into a thousand pieces on the kitchen floor.<\/p>\n

Which is a much more
\nentertaining way to say I accidentally broke it.<\/p>\n

I put off replacing
\nit after reading reports of Pyrex dishes exploding in the oven
\nbecause they are now made from to soda-lime glass instead of the
\noriginal borosilicate glass formula (the stronger and heat resistant
\nglass formula used to make glass lab equipment.) Of course Pryex
\ndenies that its new cheaper glass formula is to blame, however the
\nscientists at Popular Science explain the structural difference between the two types of glass and why soda-lime glass dishes explode here<\/a>. Which means I won\u2019t be replacing it with another Pyrex dish.<\/p>\n

It took longer than I thought to find borosilicate glass baking
\ndishes with plastic lids (I hate how plastic wrap never sticks to
\nanything but itself and avoid it by buying baking and dishes with
\nsnap on lids) and by the time I found them, another dish leapt to its
\ndeath and needed a replacement. I bought this exact set of Bovadoborosilicate heat resistant glass baking dishes<\/a><\/b><\/span> and
\nfigure I should break them in with a batch of fun and yummy bar
\ncookies instead of a boring ol\u2019 casserole. (Disclosure: I am

You will need the following ingredients:<\/b><\/p>\n

3 Eggs<\/p>\n

1 Cup of sugar<\/p>\n

\u00bd Teaspoon of almond extract<\/p>\n

1 and \u00bc Cups of white flour<\/p>\n

1 Teaspoon of salt<\/p>\n

1 and \u00bd Teaspoons of baking powder<\/p>\n

1 and \u00bd Cups of chocolate chips (or more or less if you like) \u2013

\nmy cookie bars dairy allergy friendly<\/p>\n

1 Cup of raisins<\/p>\n

1 Cup of chopped walnuts<\/p>\n

\u00bd Cup of dried cherries<\/p>\n

Step by Step How to Make this Easy Cookie Recipe<\/b><\/p>\n

1. Thoroughly mix together the eggs and sugar in a mixing bowl
\n(this is call creaming.)<\/p>\n

2. Add and thoroughly mix the almond extract into the sugar and
\negg mixture and set it aside.<\/p>\n

3. In a separate bowl add and mix together the flour, salt, and
\nbaking powder.<\/p>\n

4. Pour the dry mixture into the wet mixture and stir to
\nthoroughly combine.<\/p>\n

At this point, your dough may be a bit stiff which will make a
\nchewy bar cookie. If you are not a fan of chewy, consider adding an
\nextra egg to the mix.<\/p>\n

5. Fold (stir) the chocolate chips, raisins, cherries, and nuts
\ninto the cookie dough.<\/p>\n

6. Pour the cookie dough into a 9 inch by 13 inch floured baking
\npan and bake it in a 350 degree (F) oven for 30 minutes.<\/p>\n

7. Allow the cookies to cool, cut into bars. Enjoy. Eat. Repeat!<\/p>\n
