Happy to say that three months into the year and I\u2019m still enjoying it so much. It was literally everything I wanted it to be and upped the cliffhanger stakes from book one. Genuinely such fun to read, highly recommend dipping a toe in fantasy\/romantasy if you haven\u2019t already!<\/p>\n<p>I love author Jess Kidd and it was such a treat to read her latest novel, <em>Murder at Gull\u2019s Nest <\/em>which combined gentle historical fiction with a murder mystery, a really engrossing, charming read. Another historical read was <em>The Paris Express<\/em> \u2013 based upon a real train crash in 1895, it imagines the lives of people on the train, lots of them noted in history. A great blend of fact and fiction.<\/p>\n<p>Rounding off the month with two very different reads \u2013 <em>The Grapevine <\/em>is set in 1970s Australia and conjures up a heady, claustrophobic atmosphere of secrets and lies, while <em>Thirst<\/em> centres around my favourite of the mythical creatures \u2013 vampires.
