The stake is worth about $2.3bn and held in a trust controlled by his son Donald Trump Jr. <\/p>\n<p>Existing shareholders including the president, US attorney-general Pam Bondi, TMTG chairman Devin Nunes and a Cayman Islands-registered company called Yorkville will seek to sell a total of 134mn shares, the filing shows. TMTG also plans to issue 8.4mn new shares.<\/p>\n<p>Shares in TMTG, which trades under the ticker DJT, have plunged more than 40 per cent this year amid a US stock market sell-off fuelled by the president\u2019s aggressive trade agenda and concerns that the levies on some of America\u2019s key trading partners will weigh on the world\u2019s largest economy. <\/p>\n<div class=\"n-content-layout\" data-component=\"flourish\" data-component-id=\"17391873\" data-component-type=\"flourish-in-article\">\n<figure class=\"n-content-picture n-content-layout__container\"><a href=\"#17391873\"><picture data-asset-type=\"flourish\" data-flourish-id=\"17391873\" data-flourish-type=\"visualisation\">\n<div id=\"17391873\" class=\"cp-message o-message o-message--inform o-message--notice\" data-o-component=\"o-message\">\n<div class=\"o-message__container\">\n<div class=\"o-message__content\">\n<p class=\"o-message__content-main\">Some content could not load. Trading in the stock was temporarily halted by Nasdaq later that day.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Trump later accused Nasdaq of \u201ctaking orders from\u201d the SEC. Writing on Truth Social, the president said at the time: \u201cWhat right do [Nasdaq] have to do this? They have done it twice today. What\u2019s going on?\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week TMTG became the first group to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/e0edf206-fee9-4c94-b987-4ab90a4f1dc6\" data-trackable=\"link\">list on the New York Stock Exchange\u2019s Texas platform<\/a>, though its primary listing will remain on Nasdaq. <\/p>\n<p>The stock had become a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/2ade9a92-e81e-46ca-87f9-a0695f6120d5\" data-trackable=\"link\">popular way for individual investors<\/a> to show their support for the president, despite TMTG reporting a net loss of $19.2mn in the third quarter.
