That\u2019s why the owners of Helling 7 made sure the interior is just as <strong>industrial<\/strong> as the setting. That doesn\u2019t mean the place lacks a <strong>warm atmosphere<\/strong>. It even feels a bit <strong>chic<\/strong>, thanks to the <strong>white table linen<\/strong>. The <strong>simple wooden chairs<\/strong> align more closely with the area. Much of the interior consists of <strong>salvaged items from the shipyard<\/strong>. And the name? That\u2019s no coincidence either \u2013 the restaurant is built on a <strong>former slipway<\/strong> of the NDSM shipyard. And that brings the story full circle.<\/p>\n<p>In the winter months, you feel <strong>right at home<\/strong>, thanks to the <strong>large windows<\/strong>. In summer, dining on the <strong>spacious terrace<\/strong> by the active shipyard is ideal. You\u2019ll see <strong>cruise ships, icebreakers<\/strong> and other <strong>massive vessels<\/strong> come and go. And no, it\u2019s not just about meat. How about <strong>smoked pineapple<\/strong>, which confits in its skin during the process? <strong>Chances are<\/strong> you haven\u2019t had that anywhere else, but at Helling 7, it\u2019s part of the <strong>dessert menu<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, <strong>meat, fish and fire<\/strong> are a <strong>match made in heaven<\/strong>. On the menu now: <strong>monkfish, ribeye<\/strong> and <strong>poussin<\/strong>, all prepared over an <strong>open fire<\/strong>. Perhaps the best experience is to share the <strong>sea bass<\/strong> with your group \u2013 it showcases what cooking over fire is all about.
