The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, analysis, and optimization of rotating machinery, ensuring reliable and efficient operation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on challenging projects involving turbomachinery, compressors, pumps, and other high-speed rotating equipment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why should you apply:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Work on the project you see on the news<br \/>Challenge yourself in a supportive environment<br \/>Wonderful benefits package including profit sharing, generous paid off time, flexible schedule.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Perform rotor dynamics analysis, including lateral, torsional, and axial vibration studies using specialized software (in-house AxSTREAM Rotordynamics and 3<sup>rd<\/sup> party software).<\/li>\n<li>Evaluate bearing performance (fluid film, rolling element, magnetic) and conduct detailed analyses to optimize bearing design and performance.<\/li>\n<li>Develop analytical models and perform transient and steady-state simulations to predict dynamic behavior.<\/li>\n<li>Analyze critical speeds, stability, unbalance response, and forced vibration characteristics.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and testing teams to ensure compliance with industry standards (API, ISO, etc.).<\/li>\n<li>Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) of machinery failures and propose corrective actions.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the design and selection of bearings, seals, and other critical machine components.<\/li>\n<li>Provide technical support during the commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance phases.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal teams and clients.<\/li>\n<li>Support commercial software development by performing validation, testing and documenting new functionality; formulate engineering problems and collaborate with development team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s or Master\u2019s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 5 years of experience in rotor dynamics, bearing design, and analysis.<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of fluid film bearings, rolling element bearings, and their applications.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with API standards (API 617, API 684, API 610) and industry best practices.<\/li>\n<li>Analytical mindset with a solid understanding of finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>D. in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on rotor dynamics or related fields.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in specialized rotor dynamics software (AxSTREAM Rotordynamics, Ansys or similar).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Type:<\/strong> Full-time<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Questions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>You have requested that Indeed ask candidates the following questions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What is the highest level of education you have completed?<\/li>\n<li>Are you able to work in Bristol, UK?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a class=\"btn btn-primary\" href=\"https:\/\/www.softinway.com\/careers\/submit-resume\/\">Send Resume<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Job Description We are seeking a highly motivated Rotor Dynamics and Bearing Engineer to join our dynamic team.
